Ideas for the new Pimp ride

By way of rear end collision and insurance $$$, I just purchased a new car.

Aside from body kits and rims, any ideas on what would look good as far as customization? i have a few ideas, but anything would help.

I'm having mental images of a tall skinny white kid who's ride just been pimpedon MTV, and he's running and waving his arms in the air, thanks for pimping my ride, thanks for pimping my ride.


Pimping rides is adding stuff that is not needed is rice.


Unique is not rice, it's high end customization with taste.


What you have in mind, is low end customization, with everything in it. Big exhaust, big rims, big wing, tints you install yourself, and those cobra LEDs on your windshield wipers.


I say, don't fvck this car up, it look pretty. Instead, make it into a racer, or road touring. Rims, I'd leave those, they look pretty, or I'd get same size, chromed, or deep dish black rims with brushed aluminum lip. No wing. Engine mods. Suspencion mods, and interiour mods. Make it a sophisticated car that is appropriate for your age. Add some performance spice into it through engine and suspencion.

Go for a hidden muffler with american style exhaust pipes on the back. No big mufflers sticking out.

Dude...it's a Mitsubishi Econobox. It is what it is. Treat it as such.

It's a fine car. No more. No less.

Unless you're into the whole "import trick-out" scene personally, doing anything to that car is not going to make it more impressive to anyone. In fact, it'll make it look tacky. Keep it clean, consider some aftermarket stereo stuff, and beyond that, save your money for something worthwhile.

Ok guys, the word "Pimp" was just a metaphor. I don't intend on spending thousands of dollars to turn my ride into some ghetto boom box, although I could easily afford it if i chose to do so. The most I would probably do is put in a head unit to play my mp3's and maybe some chrome trimming to have less of a stock appearance. I don't go throughout life with a stock attitude, so neither should my car.

As for the age comment. Since I have passed the golden age of "25", do you feel that us "older" guys should just give up on life and easily transition into old fogeyhood? Fvck that. I plan to banging chicks in their 20's until I am in my 50's, maybe even older if I am not married yet and still have my youthful looks.

Until I get to that point in my life, I will enjoy the finer aspects of being an older player:

Lower car insurance
having my own crib w/o roommates
Making a better salary than younger guys
Better credit ratings

if you could easily afford that, why did you buy an old crapmobile in the first place? there is absolutely nothing you can do to that car to make it look cool besides dropping some serious coin...

don't mean to be hard on you, but if you really could afford all that high end after market stuff, why didn't you spend some more money on a car that looks sexy stock??

Use that car to commute and buy a weekend fun machine. You can have a lot of fun with an older $3-5,000 RX7, Z, or turbo'd import. It's also a good time of year to find a good deal on a motorcycle.
