"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

I don't know about you guys, but this guy was a genius when it came to understanding social interactions.

I just came upon a webpage where they dissect the preface from the book Pimp: Story of my Life by Iceberg Slim aka Robert Beck. Apparently Roissy even contributed. You can see if you click the link on the page. Anyway, here it is.

Helps to be violent and have ready access to drugs.

I grew up blocks away from the main stroll in Philadelphia. Seen overdoses, beatings, rapes, etc. A non-violent homebody has virtually nothing to learn from pimps. It's not going to happen that way for you.

I wouldn't say a genius, more ****ing crazy.

I read his book a few weeks ago, some of the stuff I liked as in "don't ****ing ask me where i've been" to the women as I hate people wanting to know everywhere i've been. And being in control and not letting the women pull bull****. But doing it by taking massive amounts of drugs and slamming their heads against walls isn't such a healthy way to do it.

But reading the book the whole lifestyle is ****ed up and most of it you wouldn't want to replicate.

Have you actually read it?

Yeah I've read it.

I just started on Trick Baby now.

Of course drugs are just a crutch. He did say that the coke was helping him to keep his demeanor so icey. It's a good book though imho. I've never been violent but I can understand the culture he came from because I grew up in the caribbean with plenty of black people. There's a ****load of domestic violence over there in the caribbean. Don't forget they're descended from slaves who got regular beatings for being disobedient.

Anyway, I can identify with the guy and that's why I like reading his books. Doesn't mean I like to do tons of coke or beat women.

It's about being untouchable really. Unfazed. Women always try to get an emotional reaction out of a man. Sometimes the man should react, sometimes he shouldn't. Anyway, I suppose he had a short temper, but he was using those women for money and apparently the violence paid off for him. Not that it did his karma any good.

He wrote his book to show the grit and grime of the world though, not to glorify it. If you guys really paid attention reading the book you'd have realised that.

Beatings because of slavery? You ever been to Africa? Violence is not exactly unknown there.

Anyway, I was talking about drugs in terms of giving the girl drugs. Virtually all prostitutes with a pimp have a drug problem. Everyone I've ever known has. People on drugs are easy to control. Control their access to drugs.

As for controlling a woman, "unreactive" is not in a pimp's vocabulary. Every one I've seen will jump all over a woman verbally or physically for the slightest buck. The women are half scared of them and half in love them sad to say.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
