Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

I have a couple things to say, and I hope you will consider the things I write OP.
Firstly, I would like the clarify that I am no doctor, nor do I claim to have knowledge on very many things, I am simply a student at University of Toronto. So, read what I have to say, but digest it yourself, and see if you think it is true or helpful for you. Also, question and criticize what i have to say, because by no means am I intelligent, or claim to be.
Okay. Well, If you do have HIV, I am very sorry to hear that and i wish you all the best in your endeavours and journey, and hopefully you can still lead a fruitful productive life.
I can see by your original post that you claimed to be very stressed out and depressed as you have begun to show the signs and symptoms of the virus.
Well, I am going to quote a passage from my psychology textbook, and let you know that you must try as hard as you can to reduce the stressors and try to come to grips with it, and as hard as it may be try to embody optimism. This, my friend, is because stressors have shown to reduce the efficacy of retroviral therapies. Therefore if you suffer from the virus, it will be in your best interest to reduce stress as much as possible. Here is the passage:
"Acquired-immune deficiency syndrome (aids) is a disease caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This disease saps the immune system's ability to fight off infections, to such a degree that even conditions that are relatively harmless to most of the population can be devastating to an individual with AIDS. Patients in industrialized countries with more medical options have a better prognosis that those living in impoverished areas. Retroviral therapies have greatly increase the longevity, health and overall quality of life of patients. However, people who are HIV positive need regular vaccination treatments. Unfortunately, stress impedes the body's ability to respond to vaccinations. In turn, studies have shown that those who experience serious emotional distress are less responsive to HIV treatments. Stress-induced elevation of norepinephrine can also worsen the condition of the various illnesses associated with AIDS. Patients who have elevated activity of the autonomic nervous system are slower to respond to antiretroviral therapies, which increases their risks of developing certain types of cancer such as B-cell lymphoma (Cole et al., 1998)"

So like i have said earlier, if you do suffer from HIV it is crucial that you reduce your stress by any means necessary. I would recommend meditation. Meditation has proven in many studies to be an extremely effective way at reducing overall stress and improve the wellbeing of ones life drastically. Furthermore, scientific studies on meditation have shown to release chemicals that are associated with bodily responses such as calmness and optimism. Even more, studies similar to this one show that meditation has profound effects on brain chemistry and can, over time, alter ones chemical brain composition for the better. Believe me, it has profound effects.
here is a study discuss in a harvard medical article that talks about the benefits of mediation on health, depression, stress and anxiety:

My recommendation, is to meditate in complete silence alone in a room for 15-30 mins a day, with your eyes closed, and try to focus on your breathing, while flushing out every single thought in your mind.
If meditation isnt for you there are many other ways to reduce stress as well. Here is an article from webMD that tells you ten ways to reduce stress. Ironically enough, meditation is number 1.

Beyond that. I wanted to discuss something else with you. You said you wanted to end your life if you found out that you were diagnosed with HIV. Well to that notion my friend, that is a cop out. I believe that you, if you put your mind to it contribute great things to this world, regardless if you suffer from HIV or not. Sure, i will give you that benefit of the doubt and say that you will probably find it hard to get a wife and have children. But you can always adopt if you want to raise a child that badly. And adopting would be more altruistic because that child needs your help more than anything.
In my personal opinion one can lead a sound and fulfilling life without a partner. Look at buddhist monks, for instance. They are one of the most loveable people on the earth, and they neither have a wife nor sex.
If you wanted you could devote your life to scientific research for finding the cure to the virus and help out millions of people that suffer. Wouldnt that be fulfilling?
or you could go to Africa and help children that also suffer from AIDs and HIV.
Believe me my friend, life is not completely lost, You just have to find something to live for, and a wife should not be something anyone lives for, hiv positive or not. For one, i want to change the world with my research, Sure i have sex a lot, but that is not why i choose to live as part of the homo sapien species.
I truly hope you do not kill yourself. you can live a fruitful life, as many other people do with the virus. All is not lost my friend. I also want to note that with emerging technologies and the ever expanding nature of technological advancement HIV should be cured within the next 25 years. With stem-cell research and nano-technology. Our medical knowledge is going to be vastly improved, almost indistinguishable with immortality.
I wish you the utmost luck. I am agnostic so praying might be nonsensical for me. But i send you all of my good energy OP. Life is more than the traditional nuclear family. You still have your blood family, and you can adopt a beautiful child if you so choose, and beyond that you can educate yourself and change the world for the better.
Hope this helps. I had a lot more to say but i didn't want to write out essays lol.
PM me if you ever need someone to talk to
Congrats bro. It's not easy to not have the lay every girl mindset especially when you are on this site but really one has to play safe.btownbuck2012 said:UPDATE:
So I've been tested 3 times now.
2 weeks and 6 days: Negative
5 weeks and 1 day: Negative
8 weeks: Negative.
All have been antibody tests but the Doctors and nurse practitioner have all told me that I'm fine. I've read online that 4-8 weeks is pretty conclusive. The CDC recommends 3 months for a rare situation where someone might already have a weak immune system that doesn't start producing the antibodies until that mark, i.e. 12 weeks or 3 months.
a-lot of stuff I've read online says that for the most part, experts have never seen someone who's tested negative at 6 weeks test positive later on.
SO, I think I'll be alright. I've always been the type of person who worries too much and this whole incident has really put life into perspective for me. I mean I fully value, love, and appreciate life in a way I never did before this. This truly did scare the hell out of me. I'm back in church.
Life is much more than your "lay count". That's for damn sure.
