I guess this post is sort of a long rant in a way, but I think I have finally been pushed over the edge in terms if social/dating at my school.
First, we had our HC Dance last night (I didn't have a date, an neither did most people). It had to be one of the most boring HC's ever - nothing happened. With the exception of some girls (a couple guys) and couples, no one danced. Most people just talked. There was one slow-dance song, but I couldn't find hte girl I liked in the gym, so I just yanked some other chick and danced with her lol (don't even know her name). I did say hey and get some kisses on the cheek from some other hotties, but overall, not much happened.
When everyone left, no one knew of any parties going down. My friend (who I had to drive) tried calling everyone he knew, but there was nothing. Oddly, when I woke up today, one of the more popular girls in my grade has an away message saying she's at this huge party. Some other girl also says she was at a party. Hmm...I did ask around - I know the Captain of the football team well and he didn't know anything when I asked him.
But that is not why I am so pissed. You see, I feel I have some social proof, but I don't get too far with girls. For example, I have worked with the football team for 4 years (hard to explain). I am well known for it, and during Senior intros the other day, the hot girls that were there at hte time (15 girls?) stood up and chanted my nickname. I probably got the loudest applause out of anyone. But at the dance last night, either they jsut ignore me or muster up a "hey DaXMan!"
I have tried to get better at the dating game since I entered high school. I feel I have enough confidence and poise to approach girls and start a conversation (which I do). But after that, it stops - nothing goes further. I ask girls out, I'll try to kino them a little, but it really doesn't go far. Menawhile, for my friends, girls just go up to them...even when I am literally standing right next to them. And I know some of these popular chicks have parties or take a lot of pics that they post on the web. I don't even know about these parties a lot of the time (and I do ask about it), but my friends get invited (I don't) - it's almost like these girls try to avoid me in a way. It's like I have a rep with the girls at my school, although I have never done anything, like drink, smoke nor s*x. Actually, I've never had a relationship nor shared a first kiss either.
I think the reason I am so pissed right now is because it seems everyone around me can get some real attention from girls (h*ll, I helped a guy get a girl last night), but no matter what I do, I end up where I started.
So where do I go from here? I am a Senior (HC Prince Soph.-Jr. years), girls have told me I am mature and confident, I get along well with many people, including the big jocks, I feel I have a pretty good personality, I am laid back/relaxed, but am probably more of a nice guy than a player. I don't smoke and mave have had a tiny bit of beer once in my life. Some of my closer friends have pretty good social proof as well, but it's them the girls go to, and not myself.
Finally, when I've posted here that I like a certain chick, thy really show some signs, but always say no when I ask them out. This frustrates me too. I can't tell at this point if a girl really likes me, because I have seen the signs and have always gotten a no.
I know this is a long rant, but for a laid back guy who doesn't really show his anger, I can't take it anymore. Maybe I need to become more aggresive and less laid-back (use my anger to my advantage)? I feel I need to become a true DJ.
Again, I know this is long, but any help is really appreciated - not with being a DJ, but why these things have been happening to me, as described above.
