First thought: you can do better with the design. There's way too much white and black. At the very least, add in more gray. You could also go with some colors, but that's a bit more difficult to do. The layout could also use a refresh. It's not bad, but it could be better. But good job overall accomplishing your goal of making your own website!

Thanks, I would put that into consideration. I wanted the site to look as simple as possible with no annoying ads everywhere.
