"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ok guys, here is what I did recently that really showed some dumb chick who's boss...

I'm in college and back home for break. I go to a house party hosted by a high school friend. I meet this girl that didn't go to my high school, so I opened her under the pretext of not knowing her, so I asked her bunches of questions. During this time, I had unwavering eye contact. I guess she dug it because within ten minutes of talking, she was all over me, kino galore...touching me an running fingers through my hair, etc. Then, she suggested going to sit in the corner, where we made out for a good fifteen minutes. I got her number, and she left town to be with some family. I hadn't seen her since until New Year's Eve.
She text messages me with bunches of sweet, nice things, then on New Year's Day, she sends one more: "I'm going to be honest with you, my ex and i just got back together after being broken up for a while, but I still wanna be friends." OH NO!!! THE DREADED LJBF!!!!!!!!!!
HAVE NO FEAR! DJ IS HERE!!!
So, I sent a text back that said, "No offense, but I have lots of friends. You weren't that great of a kisser anyways."
Haven't heard from that b*tch yet, and hopefully won't!

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Beautiful!!

I loved it.:woo:

--However, it's not the DJ thing to do to burn her like that, that kinda threw it back in her face. Meh.

Hahahaha that was pretty cool. I'll definitely use that one!

So Docs/anyone else, how would you maintain your DJness without shooting her down like that?

Remember that no girl should affect you? When you get someone saying something like that, she's done it on purpose 9 times out of ten.

"I'm going to be honest with you, my ex and i just got back together after being broken up for a while, but I still wanna be friends."
I'd say: I don't.

That's all. It's fun to burn, but that's burning the bridge. This just shuts it off instead.

Shut off...versus utter destruction :)

this is very good advice, learn from this man.

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

She probably thinks you're an insecure azzhole who wants gals for nothing but sex.

IMNSHO, a better reply in such a situation would be to make a joke questioning her sincerity because she won't admit she really only wanted to use you for sex while she was on the outs with her beau.

Or simply not reply and move on ...

The David D answer would have worked well:

"You got back together with your ex? Well that's too bad...for you."

You young whipper snappers.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever burn a bridge with the exception of a few rare situations.

Totally uncalled for. I think it's great that she was upfront and honest with you instead of stringing you along. There was no need to insult her, and it made you look like an insecure guy who took everything way too seriously.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Thank you. Burning a bridge with someone you known all of 1 day because she got back with an ex is the defination of insecurity and shortsideness.

Just tell her you wish her and him the best, and you really do.. because you have enough going on to where you didn't want to be bothered with her trying to choose between you and him, you have better things to do with your time, she just saved you some.

And when they break up.. which they will, she will remember that.. trust me.

also if you were going to say that, you should have said it with a smirk, not seriously

I would've done things a little differently, but I'd think you did alright. I certainly hope at least you have threw her number out and don't plan to hang around her anytime soon.

I would have said something like, "Well, he's going to have to wait outside.........i don't do threesomes." ............"Do you have a sister?"

-Senor Fingers

Or something like, "I was never your ex-bf:confused: !?
Or use a direct approach, "I not talking about your bf, im talking about you and me, right now."

OK, gentlemen...I get the point......

I guess I should've gone a bit easier on her. I overdid it a bit most likely because of all of that pent up frustration from being a recovering AFC.
Yes, I have erased her number, etc. I don't plan on ever talking to her again. I've been burned too many times in similar situations to try do deal with that sh*t again. It was quite odd- she was the one pursuing ME, which, of course, was what I was looking for, but then she drops that "bombshell," but, thanks to this site, I was able to say, "oh well," and walk away, a strength that I did not posess even a month ago.
Besides, while I've been on break, I've gotten maybe 10 phone numbers from complete strangers, and gone on almost as many dates! She was small potatoes, and wasn't really that great of a kisser anyways!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

You showed her that you're really hurt and don't appreciate her honesty. Then you insulted her and put her down.

That's one helluva way to DJ dude

In my eyes he didn't know her at all! Yeah he shouldn't say that too her. The author could say some smart sh1t like: " Woah slow down i know what for couple days and u already pming/calling me ur personal probles. We mite get to them later how about have a coffee together during this week. And plz hold your hands away from me cuz remember u want only be friends!"

But u have good MINDS set of QUALIFYING HER!!! u qualified her as a bad kisser and that she has something missing THATS good. u didn't worship but qualified as a regular person who has some disadvantages!

Like I said- I get the point, guys.
I screwed up. I'm not yet a full DJ, and have been overcoming some really bad AFC issues, so I think I did alright for a youngun.
At any rate, its not like I'm going to have to see this chick anytime soon, and I'm glad to have f*cked up with a girl that meant nothing to me than one that was really special.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
