Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Hi, okay ive been in this jam for awhile now and I reallllyyy needed some help.

Okay so I’m in high school and there’s this girl. She’s one year older than me and she’s perfect – funny, smart, classy and beautiful. We just started talking but at first, I looked at it just as an opportunity to be friends, because I never thought it would work between us. I asked her out to the movies as friends, but after, I realized that she saw it as more of a test to see if I could treat her right. The days go by and we begin to talk more and more and I realized that I did like her, however, I did nothing to take it to the next step seeing that she probably thinks that I wouldn’t know what to do with her. I know I made a mistake in the beginning but I was wondering how would I tell her that I DO know how to treat girls right and that the time we went out, I thought, was just as friends. And any other additional help would be great. Mucho Appreciated.

hit me here too if you need to.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

This is your first mistake! If you think of her that way and put her on a pedastal in your mind, your going to act AFC. You have to treat her like she is only one of your MANY girls on the go. Seriously bud, if you take this attitude, you will realize that there are literally millions of women out there. Consider your time in HS as practice. Gain all the practice you can now gaming girls cuz it will pay off in spades when you are older.

Girls don't put out as much in HS as they do in college / adulthood. Just use tihs as practice.

Other than that, don't worry what she thinks or if you failed the test. Use it as practice, lessons learned.

"I did nothing to take it to the next step"

ah yes, the kiss-of-death as I call it. when we get too attached to a girl before she even knows who we are, it's very difficult to make that move because your whole world is riding on it. If you can't accept failure, you will never be successful, and that's the one-itis trap. If I had to name one thing that makes these oneitis cases a disaster, it would be this. The fact is, most of the girls do have some interest to start with..however, it is KILLED outright when a guy doesn't believe in himself. When he doesn't have that confidence to make a move, he demonstrates insecurities that infuriate and repel women. You are NEVER going to do that again, next time you think there's the tiniest chance that now's the time to kiss her/whatever, DO IT. If it goes wrong you can blame me, but hey, at least you've saved yourself a lot of time and heart-ache, pining over a lost cause.

"I was wondering how would I tell her that I DO know how to treat girls right"

Don't EVER EVER say that to her. The very fact that you think you need to please her (and live up to her standards), demonstrates the wrong way of thinking. She wants to feel that she's getting a good deal by entering the relationship (i.e that you are better then her). what has she done to make her so special? if anything, she should be the one to try and please you. I mean, you're a great guy right? and she couldn't do any better if she tried. That's how a high-value guy, with other options (read: the kind of guy she wants), would think.

You remind me of my younger self, and I feel so sorry for you dude. I know it's hard to believe but there are better girls out there than her, MUCH better, and lot's of them too. Yes, you did mess up and I can promise you that trying to get with this girl now will be nion impossible, but don't fret, because she's started you on a new course, she's made you seek help and here it is. This will be the start of your self improvement.

There is no 'one' girl for you, and you will find somebody better. You are captain of your ship, and master of your soul, you're a man, a man who must grab his balls and declare his life his own.

oh...and read that bible baby, yeeeah.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
