"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I Q

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

How do grades in one subject reflect one's intelligence?

I did poorly in maths but most of my English, writing, and language teachers recommended me for a gifted students program.

So my lack of interest and subsequent poor ability in maths means I shouldn't enter the workforce and should instead stay at home?

To me this is also further confirmation that nature didn't intend women to be in the workforce
Who am I to say, but I'm betting nature didn't 'intend' for there to be a workforce, period.

Ever wondered why the boys at school were better at maths? Research as outlined below confirms what we already know - men are smarter

For being as old as you are, youre not very bright...sorry. That article couldnt be anymore biased...India abroad??? Are you serious? Maybe you should consider how socialization differs between sexes which may justify the difference in math skills...

most people never realize their potential, intellectual or otherwise, due to bad habits and limiting beliefs. kinda makes studies like these, pointless

also, has anyone read The Bell Curve?

Exactly, take a moment and glance over Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. He throws out these limiting beliefs and advocates basically "be all you can be." It's a humanistic approach to human psych.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Actually, I once read a study about the IQs of top scientists (unfortunately I can't find it right now). The result is that most top scientists do not have an above-average IQ but rather have a deep interest into their field of study, which is what makes them good and many things "easy".

Boys are just naturally more interested in logic and facts, whereas girls focus on communication. Therefore the discrepancy in school and life.

It's hard to deny that the education system of most western countries is a feminine institution. The fact of the matter is girls are easier to teach than boys, therefore most schools and institutions pose the subliminal question to all boys "Why can't you be more like jessica over there?".

It's certainly not intentional, I know almost all teachers mean well, but it's the nature of the beast that the current philosophies of education favors girls over boys.

For example, in early grades and preschool, the boys are all running around in sand boxes having fun and learning to be boys, while the girls are all looking for ways to please the teacher(homework, good behavior, etc). Who do you think the teacher would facilitate more?

Such is the way it is... I know my boys won't be attending any conventional schools.

well, its kinda we are all made for different kind of fields. we may find a maqbul fida hussain as a painter and a kalpana chawla as an astronaut. so we cannot generalise men and women in terms of their talent but we cannot deny the sexual differences (i mean some psycological and thinking patterns and perceptives and so on) between the sexes. they are there adn thats why, we are all here! anyways to oakraiders2, WHO TOLD YOU DEAR INDIA IS BIASED? Im sorry but you need to come and visit the true India sometime! we cannot judge a country by teh origin but by the present state i think. it is even so in THIS SITE where we are taught how to be a Don Juan from an AFC. now, u cannot call a Don Juan an AFC just because he was an AFC..... any questions?

BTW, Maslow's hierarchy is a load of crap. It's like Freud's theories, they sound good in theory but most aren't backed by any experiments, and many are easily disproven by experimentation.

For example, parents have quite often put their children (love and relationships) above their safety and security, and in extreme situations will even put them above their basic needs.

Many models will deny their basic needs for food for esteem and achievement.

And we could think of many more examples..

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
