I need some info on computer viruses

I seem to have contracted a Trojan Horse Virus through limewire (yes yes, I know). Anyways, my computer's virus protection found it, yet stated it was unable to repair or remove it. It also said that it was the lowest possible risk, whatever that means. I deleted the file in limewire and I read somewhere that if you delete fairly quickly, you should be okay and don't have to start downloading virus upgrade programs. Anybody wanna explain this crap to me in laymen's terms?

Hey, thanks. I don't know what it was called, it was a trojan horse virus that I got trying to download quicktime for my itunes off of limewire. But I guess I got rid of it. I forked out 60 bucks to update my virus protection and it said it was resolved after that so...yeah. Thanks anyway.
