You're crazy. The eye is one of the easiest things to inflict damage upon. It is completely unprotected. Why do you think rape defense courses tell women to gouge the eyes of the attacker? I have a damage retina in my left eye that came from an impact injury when I was a kid. It doesn't take much to detach or damage a retina. And a thumb poke is one of the least of your worries.
