Is "I love you" becoming a new fad term?

I'm hearing it thrown around a lot more casually, like during the first conversation with girls I meet.

Curious if you guys are hearing it more frequently too.

just as much as always, which is a lot

the only rare thing about "I love you" is the actual love-love "I love you"

I think that while it is more common... people like to look back on "the old days" and think that people were classier or nicer or more honest or whatever...it's like this idyllic view we have of 50's americana suburbia, but watch something like Mad Men and you realize that people have always been cheating on each other and stuff

Yes. During my Freshman, and Sophomore year of high-school that term was loosely thrown around as more of a "friendly meaning." This did actually kill the true meaning behind it as I would loosely say it toward girls I was interested in or with. I still hear it thrown around loosely in a more playful-friendly sense, but sometimes I wonder if that person is actually serious or not.

Just another symptom of the over-stimulation of and resultant under-appreciation by the hipster youth. Other such examples of overused adjectives include:

-Amazing
-Awesome
-Hilarious
-Insane
-Mind-blowing
-Awesome
-Innovative
-Epic
-Stunning
-Cutting edge
-Game-changing

None of these descriptions can ever really be objectively applied to any facet of modern popular culture in almost any respect.
