"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

so i was at a friends house and we're playing cards (yes we are losers), and during the game my cell phone rings. before i answer i check the number and it says "unknown".. so i answer, and its some girl.

somehow she knows me and she says something along the lines that we work in the same building (i work at a TV station, but she works in the same building as me, but a different station). she says she likes me and i dont know who she is and she wants to get together. and in the meantime im laughing because i found this silly and because my friends are making me laugh while they're playing. i think she was getting offended because she say "i tell you i like you and you find this funny?" and getting a tad defensive but i explain im laughing at my friends. mind you, she called me at 11ish on a sat night, so im obviously going to be out.

i ask how she got my number and she said through someone who knows me.i have noooooo clue who she is and she wouldnt tell me. the only hint i got was that we've exchanged looks as we've walked by, which could be anyone, considering the fact that 90% of the girls are hot in this building and i pretty much exhange looks with many of them!

so i asked what she wants (not in a rude way), and she explains shes going to leave me a note next time im at work that will explain where she'll meet me and than we'll get together and take it from there...

so im like "ok??"

frankly i have no idea what to think of this. im 24 years old and judging by her voice shes probably around the same age and this is the kind of thing i would expect in high school, not at this age... but im not gonna hold it against her. im not asking for advice, but just wondering what people would make of this situation.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

That is very odd. Don't do anything desperate or go too far out of your way.

Your attitude is that you're willing to check this out if it's not too much effort, but that's it.

If she asks to meet you in a coffee shop 2 minutes away, fine.

If you have to drive across the city, good bye, thank you but no thank you.

If she asks to meet you at night in an alley, she's workin' for someone else. :D

She likes you and seems to be a lil bit clumsy about it. So what? Go check her out, she might actually be "normal" ;)

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Congradulation you are being stalked.

Most attractive women do not go out of their way to find out someone's number without even knowing them. You don't even know what she looks like or even know this girl!!? so why would you go out of your way to meet with her?!

If she calls back tell her that you are not meeting with her because you don't know her and you need to know the person who gave her your number so that they can vouch for her. Then find out who that person is and let them know that they can't give your personal info away without your approval. The smart thing to do was for her to give your number to that person (who gave her you number) so that they can call you and vouch for her that she is both pretty and sane. If you are not close with that person to begin with then they have no business of giving your number away like that in the first place.

You need to get to the source of this and not follow blindely into something you have no control over. Just think what are you going to do if she is both crazy and/or ugly?? say bye-bye to job.

This is funny, because the exact same thing happened to my friend when we went overseas. He gets an sms from nowhere from some girl saying how she thought he was cute and she sees him all the time. He thought it was a joke, and she said the whole "you think this is joke" thing as well. Anyway, eventually she says she is going to meet him up somewhere and it turned out that she was very unattractive. She got very angry when he didn't try to ask her out or something. She said something to the effect of "Are you afraid of women with substance?"

Bottom Line
This person has built you up in her mind so much just based on how you look, that it is highly unlikely that she has a lot of experience in the dating world. This is probably because she is not good-looking in the slightest. You can meet her but realize two things. She will expect you to be perfection, as she has played out the scenario many times in her mind, and she will expect you to take the lead once you meet her. How you play it is up to you but if she went through all these lengths to get your number what is she going to do is she is rejected?

Most women do not approach guys. They do not need to because guys naturally approach them. They also do not want to because they are afraid of rejection.

You think its bad for a guy to be rejected on approach but for a woman its much worse. After all any good looking woman can get 90% of guys out there if she wanted to. But since they are good looking to start with they don't need to put themselves in that position.

You have to ask yourself these following questions:
a) If this woman was good looking why did she fear a direct approach??
b) Why and how did she get your number? Again no details here.
c) she has got into alot of trouble to find who you are, who you know, and what is your number. In her mind she has painted a fantasy, now if this fantasy is not going to come true will she be angry and dissapointed?? you bet. I smell desperation. If a guy did this to a woman everyone will rightfuly say he is stalking AFC. This is not an exception despite the gender differences.

She has got oneitis for you for just looking at you and you don't even know if this woman sane or what does she looks like. You don't even know where she got your number?? (could she have been stalking you?? you already know she is witholding information from you, whats not to say she is not lying either??). If a woman has got to all this trouble just to get rejected then do you think she will be comfertable running into you in the office buliding?? do you think she might go to more lengths to get you in trouble since she has been rejected?? you bet.

Again I am looking at the worse case scenrio but I doubt that the best case scenerio where she is both pretty and sane will be happen as well. Probably somewhere down the middle that is what is going to happen.

Anyway best of luck of how you are going to handle this. Please keep us posted on the development and I hope I am proven wrong.

P.S its important that you find out who gave her your number. If she is not your type and you got to bail using a line like "sorry I am already seeing someone" will not go well if the informant already told her that you are single.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

well when i was talking to her she told me she got it from a friend. so its obviously someone i work with (assuming she wasnt lying)

so at this very moment i have no way of finding out who gave her my number. i havnt personally given my number to many people. maybe like 4-5 people at most? but theres a place at our work that you can access info about peoples contact numbers, so its possible she got it from there too..but i wont know. i doubt that because only people who work at my tv station can access that and she said she works for another station in the building

also, my work hours are weird. i work 2 weeks days and 2 weeks night and i rotate. plus my workspace is always in a different area, so someone who doesnt know me wont be able to find me...hell, even people who know me would have trouble finding me..so this may of been her only option...i think

DJDamage has got it right. He is saying what I was trying to say in more words. If your contact information is on the internet in anyway shape or form that is how she obtained it. I would bet that she simply got the name from someone or maybe she got someone to look up your contact information for her. In either event, tread very softly because you dont know how she is going to react when you inevitably break her heart.

This does seem like a strange thing for a woman to do...

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

no girl worth her salt would do that.

Either she is a Hedgehog, or she is so insecure or childish she has to result to stalking.

Either or, you aren't looking too good.

Most decent girls get hit on enough to wear they wouldn't think of putting themselves out like that.
