I have a question for the seperated / single dads on the forum

WArrior's thread about his ex got me thinking. I could not imagine having a onetiis that beucase i had a child with this person, i could not walk away from. My saving grace with the girl that brought me here is that i eventually wised up, and kicked her to the curve and just moved on. but like warrior, warrior doesn't get that opportunity or he will be a ****ty dad which he is not

so this is the question i have. giuys that have kids by women who they aren't with anymore, do you find that this stunts yoru growth as a DJ? I mean every time you start kicking ass the old virus starts coming back around you can't ever get past that. how do you deal with that

You look for women who exhibit behavior different than the old one. We all still have a lot to learn, but after leaving a bad relationship at least you know what NOT to look for!

My suggestion would be no contact for life ... to do this you use someone as an intermediary between you two.. this way you never have to see the ex again. Its difficult sometimes to find someone to do this .. but it least then, if you can, you will not be triggered back into your negative state of mind and bring all the crap back to the forefront of your thoughts to knock your game down..

Once you stop giving a fvck what she thinks; I set it up so I'm tied to the ex only to the extent I have to communicate about visitation logistics, kid's activities, etc. So outside of being a good dad, I'm free to pursue whatever I want.

There is no virus because I fell out of love with the woman during my marriage. There literally came a point where I quit trying to make the marriage work and started to contemplate my exit plan. Then I got myself a mistress and my ex started taking an interest in her best friend's husband. There was literally no love left in it. We were both looking for it elsewhere.

...except my ex was the one who ended up having second thoughts about splitting up. I had none of that going through my head because I knew I had made the right choice.

Stunts? It's the opposite. It gives you a boost. I've been slacking in my game because of work, but you know what? Spending 10 minutes with the her makes me happy I'm free and reminds me of exactly what I don't want and will not put up with in a relationship. It makes me want to go out and get something new.
