"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Seriously. Every time I go to either Barnes&Nobles or Borders, it's filled with idiots who sit there for hours and don't buy a damn thing. It's really messed up that just because "everyone else does it" they think it's okay. I always get something from the cafe before sitting down for even an hour.

It's called courtesy. Most people are just so damn cheap. I think it's especially annoying because these idiots don't leave enough room for actual customers. Why don't they just go to the public library? I can't believe people go to these places and read entire books without paying for them. Books are not expensive, yet people treat the bookstore like the public library.

I can understand if you read magazines without paying for them because a lot of it is advertisements and you can get it a lot cheaper if you subscribe. Still, from a business standpoint, it annoys me that some people are such lousy and disrespectful consumers to these stores/cafes.

I just felt like sharing.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Fvck that.

How can they justify over $4 for a goddamned frapaccino and $4 for a slice of pie? THAT'S rape my friend. Whenever me and the li'l one go to B&N cafe I buy my coffee and whatever she wants and sit and read every fvcking magazine they have I'm interested in.

Sometimes for hours on end. I haven't paid retail for a book in years. Why when it's so readily available if you know where to look.

Yeah, I worked for both B&N and Borders. What is worse than the people who don't buy anything are the people who leave piles of books all over and I have to spend my whole shift picking up after people instead of getting my other projects done.

hey, their latte's are the **** thought.. you gotta admit

You didnt' know? Barnes and Noble is the best night club that no one has heard about.

1) it's free
2) the women there are usually somewhat intelligent
3) most if not all are in college
4) you know they can read
5) it closes in time for you to actually go home and get some and get some sleep

you think i'm joking

Barnes and Noble???? My take on females that frequent that place - Flip-flops, no makeup, squat, feet on chairs, etc. C'mon, you gotta be joking. That is simply a library for college geeks and nerds. You boys really need to get "some" and see what is outside of your little worlds. You will thank me once you decide to take the plunge. Trust me, you won't hurt yourselves.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

People sitting around bring other people, so there are more people sitting around.

****, I guess I worked at a better Borders then. The women who frequented my store were either rich locals who lived on the Gold Coast, tourists, or celebrities.

exactly. first of all, they don't put Barnes and nobles in poor areas. Nothing but rich or upper middle class kids go there.

I mean, BandN is not my stomping ground or anything, but you'd be suprised what you will find if you stop in there at say, 9 oclock on a friday night before you go out

Why wait so late in the evening? Go at lunch or early afternoon and you could meet up with a woman who'd go out with you that night.

Because at nine on a friday night, you will find all the women who don't have dates. Strike up the convo, and move right for the first date at their Cafe. It's genius I tell you.

Had you thought about the fact that they were there at that time because they weren't planning on doing anything else that night? At best you may gain their interest to do something at a later time.

Sarging in the afternoon gives them the chance to go home and get ready to go out with you that night. It's a more direct route and usually shows a greater interest level from her. Plus it makes it seem less likely that you are doing any last minute trolling for the evening.

Yeah, that is true, however, if you don't mind waiting a day or two, its one of the best concentrations of single intelligent women that you can find on a friday night. Its always worth a shot if you have nothing else to do on a Friday night.

I study at B+N or Borders alot. There are lots of med students there.

I end up buying coffee and very often buy other books or magazines. I'll bring my own study material but end up getting more.

I always thought it would be a good way to save money to buy reading stuff without buying it, but honestly I end up buying alot more. I'm sure other people do as well.

That being said there are alot of people that just sit and chat instead of reading.

Never picked up at one, but I'm normally there to catch up on reading.

I've had a few instances where the girls at the store showed alot of interest, but I never pursued it.

In school, I always ordered drinks at the cafe when I studied....you're right, it is common courtesy to do so if the provide the space IMO. I had friends go there with me to study and they wouldn't buy anything......cheapskates.

I sometimes browse for books without buying, but that's part of the shopping experience.

I do go there for an hour, twice a week to just read/skim through magazines. I usually get through about 10 magazines an hour....don't read the whole thing, just try to keep updated on the world thorugh quick summaries over a wide range of topics. Its really quite fantastic. I'd add up too fast if I bought these magazines!

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I kinda agree with you, there are idiots there but also some really hot chicks

there. When I go there I mostly buy a book or I look at the magazines for

an hour. But I have never sat around just to chat. But let me tell you there

are some fine chicks that are there looking around. maybe later i'll pick some

up lol. But for the people that stay there for hours and dont buy a thing, I

think its weird, go buy something even if its a dollar you owe that place.

I've had several times where girls would come up to me and initiate conversation when I was studying. Once, some dude hit on me there too.

Maybe if they didn't charge ridiculous prices for music/dvds, I'd give a sh1t.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
