"Texting kills relationships". Say what you want about it. This is just one example, and there are plenty more like it. On the other hand, there are plenty of examples of texting, or technology as a whole, strengthening relationships as well.

Either way you look at it, I thought this was an very good article. At first, I expected some typical read, and I more or less got that outcome, but I found it to be very true. I'm on the computer 24/7 because of what I do, but like the author found out:

I'm an IT Manager, and feel the same way. Texting should be used to make contact with the girl, but then you really need to escalate to the meet-up.

Here's a trick.

Take her on a date, and ask her to place her phone on the table beside yours. Then tell her "The first person to touch their phone has to pick up the tab".

That way you get her undivided attention and a smile. It also tells her that you're interested in HER, and that you expect her to also give you her undivided attention.

At the very least, you'll get a free meal out of it.

It seems those of us in the IT field realize this more than anyone else. I'm a programmer, and the more I'm on a computer/phone/etc, the more I want to get away from it all. I love technology, but nothing beats being outside with and around people.
