I Feel Invisible Recently

In the last couple of weeks of June, with "lockdowns" being lifted (eye roll), everyone started feeling frisky again. It was almost like watching all of the dogs being let out of the pound simultaneously, as they smelled the fresh air and grass...

....everyone was super nice and tons of hot women were checking me out like I was the last man on earth. Just a couple of months later and literally 90% of people are masked up again. A lot of of the initial paranoia is no longer present. Clearly, no one is getting sick and people aren't just dropping in the middle of the street, but they mask up again anyway for no reason whatsoever, aside from force of habit.

What's worse is that the girls are almost all turtling up again. Very few if any are checking me out now and the spirit of exploration has been replaced with a desire to stick close to people they've known all their lives.

This yo-yoing back and forth is getting so stupid and so driven by fear and lack of integrity it's discouraging. I had high hopes that we could maintain some momentum and at least TRY to regain our lives but the people around here are just the weakest group of imbeciles you could ever imagine.

Yes, some, a few people die of corona, lots more die with corona but of something else, like being
a fat fvck or being old and frail in general or from cancer after smoking all their lives or from dying
in a car crash or from being shot or from heart disease. But it will say corona on their death certificate
like that was the sole cause. People die, life goes on.

Nah man. Last time I went 4 weeks ago it was wide open. This was after Vegas was muzzled again too. Status might have changed in the last few weeks, but I doubt it. They are focused on masking kids now

Not in the more rural counties from what I could tell passing through, but definitely in the cities. Same in Virginia

I've observed this as well. Few are out wanting to socialize. They're more closed off it seems. It definitely is frustrating.

This is a valid feeling and it is frustrating. I would not call this feeling invisible. This is a social construct and a fear of a virus.

There were times when I felt invisible pre-pandemic. It occurred when my approaches were not landing anything more than a 15 second conversations either at the grocery store, a walking path, or at bars.

The dating market wasn't healthy in 2019 before COVID hit.

If the COVID case numbers are high, that's a reason to curtail social activity. If you're a woman without a boyfriend in COVID era, you can still find sex rather easily. Your level of fear and need for sex will determine your activity level, but most women can reach into their social networks to find someone in a pinch more easily than men.

It's the yo-yo effect, back and forth, which is most annoying and frustrating. You get a few rays of hope and then a couple of weeks of CNN fear porn and almost everyone's masking up again.
