"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I have a habit of playfully busting balls and teasing people. Never about anything serious, but things like if they hilariously misspeak in a conversation, their sports allegiances, where they went for vacation of something funny happened, etc. However, when someone is actually upset, I'll cheer them up and not bust balls.

The problem is that girls tend to hold prolonged grudges against me for just one remark that really isn't bad at all. And in most cases, the girl begins the playful banter. They take a jab at me, but when I fire back with a similar remark, they get mad and storm off. I'm simply surprised by how long they hold the grudge for, as if I did something really bad.

I never have a problem with other guys when it comes to this stuff. Other guys don't seem to have this issue with girls where I am. I know these girls too, they're not strangers. Maybe there's unsettled waters beneath the surface that become exposed when the jokes are made? Some people can dish it but can't take it back.

Simply put, it's bothersome. More of a vent than an "advice-seeking" post, but I wanted to get it out there.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

unless she's really in your life, why would you care if she's upset? If she gets all "pouty" THAT easily, why would you want her, anyway?

It's not one particular girl. It's multiple, and I have to see them at work or out with friends.

When you are busting on people you have to be careful not to cross the line. I mean with (some) dudes it's practically non existent. But with girls you can't talk about weight or appearance or anything remotely related to weight or appearance... it's a different type of busting when it comes to girls they just can't take it like guys do.

Personally I don't like to play like that. Only rarely do you find someone that can really take it in stride and keep laughing. Most will either get all pissed when you bust back. Or just do it with poor taste. I can definitely take it, but I really get furious if someone tries to take a joke all serious like that. I hate to be taken out of context, drives me nuts.

If multiple people are getting upset about it it's not them, it's you dude. I bet the guys you playfully put down don't like it much either but roll with it better.

It's also possible you are looked at as a clown and not taken seriously. People will generally not take as much from someone like that.

Dial it down a notch.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Women tend to be more sensitive than men... They don't insult each other like we do. You're also going to find some who are over-sensitive and take things too personally... Like it's a direct attack on their character. Look up over sensitive for more info.

You can't be too harsh with them, and shouldn't insult them. Playful teasing is different... You can be sarcastic and ****y without insulting them. It should be used in a seductive / sexual tone, as well.

You gotta treat them a little differently than with men. Instead of being an ******* - you poke fun at the things they do. Don't insult who they are, or "attack" them directly.
