Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

ya man, just do what you do then. Ignore her, shes none existant. Hopefully, you dont have mutual friends with her tho, that could cause problems. I heard the best way to get a girl off your back is to start acting needy and afc. Be really clingy and desperate, she will be gone for good once you start calling her a few times a day. Leave tons of messages. tell her you love her lol!

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Meh. I'm just gonna keep going about my business as I feel. If she's at the same place as me, why should I be the one to leave? That doesn't make sense. It's like, everyone's all about "being a man", and then you tell a person to run away and hide, and call it advice. I'll just put up with it. She has no power over me anymore.

You should be the one to find another hangout because YOUR THE ONE who's affected by her actions!!! You said it yourself in your initial post, your tired of her "leading you on." LOL Explain to me how someone who flat out told you they just want to be friends is leading you on. She's a girl who likes to party, so when she's drunk she'll flirt a bit, you have to know that comes with the territory.

And what's wrong with having a platonic relationship? In all honesty, this other girl is probably the best friend I've ever had. Grow the **** up.

There's nothing wrong with having a platonic relationship, but THIS RELATIONSHIP isn't platonic. You might not have feelings for her but your clearly affected by seeing her hook up with other guys to some extent, that would mean your relationship IS NOT PLATONIC!
Its almost laughable how you act like you can't avoid this chick. You make it seem like someone's holding a gun to your head to make sure you hang out with her. The only reason you can't avoid this girl is because deep down you don't want to avoid her!!

You can take the great advice that has been repeatedly thrown your way or you can continue to be a chump and get $hitted on...choice is yours

Examples of her leading me on:

telling my friends that she wanted to **** me
telling her friends that she wanted to **** me
telling me that she wanted to **** me
she was the one to initiate things at first (always in a hurry to show those big ***s while making out with me)
rocking back and forth in my lap when at bars or parties
constantly trying to kiss me
always making sexual references
ect...

But as soon as I try and further anything she stops cold, lays on the "but we're just friends" bull**** and goes home saying she's tired or something. This is the crap I can't stand, and I've simply had enough.

I'm not affected by this anymore. I don't need to lay low like a ****ing criminal. I did nothing wrong, and I'm not going to penalize myself for her dumb ****. All I'm asking for (this topic), is a way to get it across to her that I don't want to be friends, or anything else with her without looking like an ******* to my friends. Some of them are already trying to make me feel guilty, saying she's a a "good" friend and all that.

And we do have mutual friends, so that's what's making this tough. If I want to see them, I'm going to have to see her. Real fun. If I wanted to be a real ****, I could mention to them in passing all the backstabbing, high-horse, trash talking she does about them, and let the chips fall where they may, but I won't lower myself.

Oh, and the platonic friend is someone else. Obviously not her. Where did you get that idea?

Sounds like your head is in the right place. I agree, I wouldnt start any trash talking even if you share friends, this shows to everyone that you would be insecure over it. But this girl is definately an AW, look up attention wh0re on the search and there is a 5 star post on AWs, a very enlightening read. I am still reading it so I will bump in today.

Come on man, that's a cop out. You wanted to lay her and she ended up playing games with you because she doesn't see you the same way, that's why it's hard for you to move on (and that you don't have some other female to occupy your thoughts and sexual energy). No one here said to go out of your way to avoid her, but you need to be "indifferent" to her. Meaning you keep any conversation she strikes up short and to the point (politely) and never initiate a conversation with her. You're afraid of what your friends would think if you ignored her? How old are you?

Listen to yourself, "I can't avoid a chick I wanted to sleep with who rejected my advances without looking like a prick to my friends". This doesn't even qualify as a valid complaint, it sounds like denial to me.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
