"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

...as soon as she says "you're funny."

This happens to me all the time. I'm talking to a girl, and at some point in the conversation she starts laughing. A little bit later, I'm still cracking her up, and she says "you're funny."

At that moment, my humor completely dies. It's like I suddenly became aware I was making her laugh and I start TRYING to be funny. Of course, it never works when I purposely TRY to be funny.

Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know how to deal with it?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I have experienced sort of like this before. Girls tell me a lot that I am funny, but whenever I run out of material, I either just go quiet until something funny or interesting happens,or I use my imagination. ONe thing maybe U could do is kin of shrug off the comment"You're funny" and think about it later, but in the meantime, just keep doing what you were doing.

I don't like having "material", it means that eventually, i could run out.

Try broadening your style of humor by being able to joke about anything with a little help of your imagination...you'll find it's suprisingly easy to turn really mundane things into a crowd-wide crack up.

Sometimes i have material but most times as just improvise. My problem is that sometimes when i improvise i dont think before i speak and end up saying something really ****in weird. Some girls find this cute about me but it pisses me off cuz i really dont like doing that. Id rather be the strong silent type then the funny guy. But its hard to be the strong silent guy. plus im not all that strong. and the silent thing dont really atract women on its own.

dude, your predictable, she knows when your together youd crack up jokes and stuff............stop it!!!

would like it if she thinks of you like a clown!?!

try a differnt approach, limit your JOKES!!!

try spendin 2-3mins talkin to her, then leave...........

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

don't so much try to be a comedian there are other ways to be funny besides jokes. If she has one of the lil girlie girl voices cheerleader type just copy her in her own voice. Do lil things to aggitate her, but not so much you piss her off. That way you appear to be funny, yet your not tryin. You also appear to not really be impressed by her cause u your not scared to make fun of her. Like i said though don't take it overboard just enough to get her mad into one of the lil play fightin moods girls get in where u end up on the bed :)

I have a friend like that. He hasn't gotten a girl all year because of it too. His personality is supposed to be kinda goofy and outgoing, so of course they're going to laugh all of the time, but in the end you just come off as being predictible. And that's not what you're going for. Add some actual conversation to it. Don't make her feel like she's watching Friday Night Stand Up. I mean, comedy's good, but you can only go so far before it gets a little old.

two things. First, I used the wrong word in my last post. I meant just funny things that had recently occurred, not material like scripted jokes.
Second, while the same type of humor and a epeated joke do get old, who sayshumor gets old? Funny people are not always predictable. not o toot my own horn, but I am a very funny guy, and hardly predictable. The funniest people are the ones that always entertain but keep peopleguessing.

yeah when you are confident about getting a good response or laugh from him/her, say it.

It really depends on the person, since i developed my sense of humor i havn't had a problem getting girls at all, in fact i had three girls ask an ex of mine for my home number the day my cell phone went out of service for a bit, and as a result all four (the ex included, who has a new boyfriend ;)) ended up calling me.

I'm almost never not joking around, but I have a really huge imagination, and i take them on sort of adventures with me, ask funny questions so that they need to give a funny response, you come across as having good humor, and they get involved too.

I have a couple of sayings i use, but overall i don't use canned jokes, i tell stories of what i've done sometimes, but mostly it's on the spot about something that's happening, and get the girl involved in the conversation.

Like an earlier poster said, putting a stand up act on will get old eventually, but if you can get her involved then it will change things drastically.

Realize there are times to be serious though.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Don't you ever remember reading things like "Don't react or try to analyze everything a girl does or says." this means, when a girl tells you "your hot" "your funny" "your cool" just don't care, don't give a s*it. Either pretend to ignore what she says and carry on, or use what she says to amplify the attraction and throw in a ****y/funny remark. Eg.

HER: (giggle) Your so funny!.
YOU: (roll eyes) Small things amuse small minds! (smirk)
HER: (most probably fake offended and slap your arm or giggle and say shut up.)
