Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

So last night I got a message on my phone:

"Well well well, long time no speak, how are you?! x"

I replied:

Who is this? I don't have your number.

Got back:

"Guessssssss rhythmic :)"

Replied:

"Give me a clue."

Got back:

"You gave me your number :)"

Obviously female, obviously at least a little interested. I'm thinking I'll call the number after work, see who it is, then dependant on whether it's a HB, propose a catch-up or something. But what would you guys do? I'm interested to see if anyone has any gold for this.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

She's probably HB1-5 and afraid to tell you who she is because of possible rejection.

Only low-self esteemed women would playthis kind of game.

OR

She blew you off in the past and is now afraid of getting her pride injured in case you reject her anyways.

DoctorJ - I did that actually, as I gave my number to a load of people from Facebook last week since I don't really use it any more.

GotED, possibly a 5, no lower as I don't tend to associate with women 1-4... Not by design, I just don't happen to know any uggers :D Maybe someone who blew me off in the past though - that used to happen a lot...

Half'n'Half, I sort of did that too - guessed a couple of names, but it was a little futile since I probably gave about 200 people my number.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
