"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

Don't make fun of a health problem or appearance issue related to it. That's off limits. No need to beat a person when they're down.
I would never be a d1ck about it and make her feel bad but what about just a little teasing? She'll be expecting me to smirk and find it a bit funny so if I just keep a totally straight face when I see her isn't that being afc?
I honestly think she likes to be teased a bit because that's what she seems to respond to. She's always telling me how her stepdad makes fun of her lisp (from having 2 loose teeth) and how people say she looks like a meerkat lol she doesn't say it like she's offended at all.
I think she's been treated badly by guys in her past so that's what she responds to...any time I've teased her before she never gets upset she just goes all girly and shows me puppy dog eyes like she's pretending to be hurt...

She told me that I was always too nice to her and she wasn't used to people treating her like that. She actually said "you always treated me nice, maybe too nice" I'm thinking that's one of the reasons she became so disinterested in the later stages of the relationship.
