its not something you have control over. but when you spin plates ( have other things going on in your life such as hobbies and school) the girl will automatically take a back seat to other important things in your life. remember theres a high chance she will flake so its better not to think of her in a great light until you guys are exclusively together.
Good thread and a good response. Things that have helped me keep control of my emotions:
-Date multiple girls. You care even less if one flakes on you, even if she's hot and you guys made out already.
-Date sane girls. Learn to identify the ones that play mind games, as they will wreak havoc on your emotions if you are unprepared. Steer clear of them for anything beyond a ONS.
-Develop an iron self-confidence. Tell yourself you are the prize, not the girl. Going to the gym and improving yourself physically will help here.
-Have your own life and passions. Work or study in a field that you enjoy, and have stuff going on outside that as well. I'm in 2 bands - great fun.
-Have minimal expectations about where things might be leading. Don't date a girl twice and automatically assume she's gf material just because she's hot and seems interested, and then emotionally invest more into that girl without getting to know her better.
-Experience. The more girls you meet, date and fvck, the better you get at the game.
Most importantly: learn which girls are viable long-term options. There's no use sleeping with a girl once without really getting to know her, emotionally investing in her, and then finding out that she's completely crazy. Screening the girls you meet for characterstics you want (make a list) can never be emphasised enough. Bear in mind that for longer-term prospects and especially gfs, you actually need to open up emotionally. Without wishing to sound cliched, it will make both the sex and the relationship deeper for both of you. A relationship is nothing if not an emotional connection.
