I'm a stickler for this; the number of the girl you just chatted up, the word on the street of a promotion, the trip of a life time you turned down. As you can see, I always end up being the one left behind, kicking myself and regretting it all.

So how do you guys do it? Pretty sure divine intervention last night basically threw a girl at me but I ended up outside being once again, the knight in shining armour consoling another chick who'd who'd had her bag stolen instead of the one getting into the taxi with the other chick.

My friends are packing up their bags as we speak for a trip across the state. I'm about to pack my bags and head to university on a public holiday weekend.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I understand what you mean, but next time you come across an opportunity like that, remember that regret. You chat up a cute girl, but you don't ask for her number? You'll be obsessing about it for at least a day, and you will always hold that regret thinking 'What if?'? You chat up a cute girl, and you ask for her number? A) She flat out rejects you and is a ***** about it (which is rare), but all that happened was, you dodged a bullet. She was a ***** to begin with, and going out with her would have been horrible, but at least you had the steel balls to ASK. All you did was show that you were interested in her, she should be flattered. B) You got her number, proceed to the date and then to the bang.

See how this is a win-win situation? If situation A happens, you are rewarded with intrinsic rewards. You've stepped out of your comfort zone, took that opportunity for what it was, and you ended up being that much better by the end of it. This, is how you improve as a man, "Great moments are born from great opportunities.". Regardless of whether it was a cute girl or a weekend trip, if you don't learn to face opportunities head on and grab what is deserved to you, you will miss out a lot on life.

You need to realize, that this world is yours. You are the most important person on this planet to YOU. Don't you feel like you deserve that cute girl? You deserve going out for a weekend and make some great memories? If it was your decision to focus on your studies, that's fine. Studying is investing in your future, and that is more important than anything else, but let those decisions be a CHOICE not a consequence out of FEAR.

Everybody has a bad day. Just make sure you keep trying.
Persistence is key, with after that comes experience and knowledge.

Success is soon after. :)
