How To NOT Be "Clingy" But Still Show Interest...
1. Talk for no longer than a few minutes on the phone.... the lesser, the better.... this is natural for me, I dislike phone conversations.
2. Make time for yourself. Your life does not revolve around her or anyone.
3. If you don't have anything to say, don't call her.
4. Don't be a hoe.... if she starts asking you to do things she can do herself obviously, tell her to get off her lazy ass and get it herself..... and while she's up, get you one too.
You can show your interest for her when you guys are around... when you guys are not, put her ass on the backburner, take care of your bidness during this time... should she call while you are busy, tell her 'Nice to hear from you but, I'm in the middle of trying to make my first million, let me call you back later.' Be a mystery.... is the key.
of course sometimes its hard to discipline yourself to give up rather than keep trying to show interest when she's clearly not interested, meaning you end up disobeying all those rules e.g. calling her too much, revealing too much about yourself and so on....
you just got to remember if you feel like you're going to have to break one of those rules (because otherwise you can't see her contacting you or whatever) then she's obviously not interested and you need to NEXT her... this is the mistake I've made alot and it has occasionally landed me in deep one-itis trouble...

In the beginning it's always good to have something fun that you plan to do and ask her if she'd like to join you (rather than simply asking her if she would like to do something). This shows that you're interested but you're going to go out and have fun either way.
