"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

How to identify subtle change?

I've known a HB8 in my social group for about a year. While we have always gotten along well and we have things in common, I never had the intention of pursuing her. The thought simply never entered my mind. We had different schedules and were busy with our own lives, so it's not as if we saw each other often.

About 7-8 months ago, she was FWB with a guy, who I coincidentally became good friends with around this time as well. We'd be out in a group like normal, but again, the thought never even entered my mind. About a month later, my friend cut things off with HB, they wanted different things. By all accounts, it wasn't pretty. Fast forward to now, and they rarely ever talk to one another.

Ok, back to the topic at hand. Very recently, I noticed some subtle changes in her behavior, and it hit me like a ton of bricks once I realized it. For starters, she'll sit next to me whenever the opportunity presents itself. Any attempt at a joke I make is hilarious (and she'll keep it going). One time, I pulled a minor prank on her - she insisted on keeping the cheap prop I used as a souvenir. She initiates some kino - one of which is she came up with a "secret handshake" for us awhile back. I thought it was a temporary thing, but she still keeps it going.

The difficult part for me is deciphering if this is the HB8 being friendly since we've known each other awhile, or if there's something more. Normally, I'd have already asked her out, but because there's a lot of familiarity amongst her friends and mine, a rejection would almost certainly make the rounds. The best plan of action is probably to invite a small group out (including her), and I'll see if I can isolate her and light the spark.

Apologies for going off on a tangent or two, but how do you identify subtle changes with a HB you know when it comes to possible interest?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

If you think you're seeing something then you probably are. Strike now. Assume attraction. Escalate. Isolate. Copulate. If she accepts your advances then you were right. If she doesn't then simply withdraw for a while then act like nothing happened and go back to being friends with her.

I agree with what Turuwal said.

So how to identify if those subtle changes she's been showing to you is indeed an interest?

Go out with her together with your small group of friends to a carnival.
As you guys are enjoying, suggest splitting the group for a while, and tag this girl alone with you (Assume attraction/isolate).
Then go inside the horror house. Don't rush walking while inside. The eerieness of the place creates a mixture of emotions for her, and use this to your advantage for kino(escalate). If she's okay with your kinos, proceed making-out to a darker, secluded corner. The shivers in her breath is an unprotested signal for your hands to travel to her breast, fondling them gently as it goes down further to her navel. That place would be a self fulfilling prophecy for you. There's only one thing left to do. Copulate. If both of you are adventurous enough to do it inside that secluded place, that's good. You can always leave that place and find a place to bang. Wheter you'll be regrouping to your friends later or leave them there and just text them whatever excuses you have is up to you :)

Its a difficult one il give you that

How long have you known HB 8 exactly for ?

You say shes been in your social circle for a year but did you know her before then ?

How do you act around her and what is your role in said social circle ?

She seems to be giving you at least some IOIs by wanting to sit by you all the time i would take this as a good indicator she at least finds you interesting

Personally if this was me i would isolate her on the next group night out and go for a kiss close i doubt she will resist but if she does then just blame it on the drink and let it never be spoken of again ,

Just make sure you build maijor Kino before going for the kill (use that handshake thing if you can as she is comfortable with that )

If no resistance i would be tempted to strike while the irons hot and go for a F close depends what sort of vibes u get after the kiss but id deff suggest it

The fact this girl has been involved in a FWB relationship previously would suggest she isn’t afraid of the D which is always a good start

Thanks for the insight. We discussed meeting up with some of our friends this weekend, but due to circumstance problems, she couldn't make it. However, she was eager for the possibility of hanging/going out soon. In my mind, the only obstacle is that our schedules don't match up well at all this month (both our jobs have strange hours). So we will see.

Turuwal - I will try to do as you said - more difficult during the day than at night! My "hunch" on deciphering women's interest is inconsistent. HBs who I appear interested aren't, and sometimes vice versa as well.

RagingBalls - I see your thinking. However, there aren't any carnivals near us, so that won't work. I'll substitute it with a bar, that can work.

Bingo-Player - It is tricky. To answer your series of questions:
-I've known her for approx. one year. Up until recently, we didn't speak consistently, but always got along well.
-No. I relocated here for work, as did a lot of us in the area. Met her shortly after she moved here.
-I've always busted her balls. At first, there was no motive (especially in the time she was FWB with my soon to be friend) - she has a sense of humor and can take jokes without getting prissy. Only in the last week or two have I considered taking things up a notch. I still act the same way.
-My role in the circle? I'm the responsible/smart one (connecting the dots between people and conflicts, reading people, organizing everyone). I'm all about fun, but don't do anything stupid or get into unnecessary drama (that was for high school). To be clear, I'm not "nerdy" - I'm well-built physically and tough enough mentally to straighten someone out if they try to diss me.

I agree with the rest of what you said. All I need to do is find or create the opportunity.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
