"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

PART1:
So I broke up with my ex- 1 week from today. I didn't tell anyone till today. They asked why I did it, and I just said it didn't work out. I think guys are AFC's if they try to spread rumors. Act respectful and like a man and act like nothing happened--that's my opinion. Do you disagree? If you do, what should I say?

PART2:
I'm not one to spread word that I'm single, but I've heard that it works in finding new relationships. They start presenting themselves to you.

So 2 questions:
Do I spread around that I'm single?
And what do I say is the reason why we broke up?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

ok. last reply for today. did too many already :)

1) you dont HAVE to explain why you broke up, but if you want to I suggest explaining to people who you trust (if they ask). I think the last thing you need is unreliable @$$holes running around spreading garbage about you breaking up to be gay (for example).

2) sure you can spread the word that you're single, but don't post up ads and signs that you're available all over campus... which is what I'd like to see happen at my school.

2a) if the girls know you're available, why wouldn't they present themselves to a DJ like you?

3) reason? the same reason why you broke up with your girl in the first place.

1. Honestly, just be cool about it. Don't worry about her because "she doesn't know what she's missing."

2. You don't have to tell anyone about your relationship status. Keep it to yourself.
