"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

The desire to impress women, all kinds of women, ruins our rationality. I almost said that only the pretty ones, but I realized that this isn't the case exactly. Since there's this girl that is definitely not my type but I told her my stuff (business, etc.)

Impressing women, and people in general, is probably what makes us feel and become beta inside. How do I get rid of this? I think the solution is to be so focused in your life, but I can't put a definitive finger at it.

Thanks for the help guys.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

It has occurred to me lately that the majority of women don't want to be impressed necessarily, but rather entertained.

Of course there are the few that are only interested or impressed in a guy's material wealth, but those are usually the ones with vacuous personalities of their own. Yeah, sometimes they're hot, but also usually only worth one night's roll in the hay.

If a chick laughs at my (sh!t) jokes, is easily entertained (as per the nature of our dates) and I'm able to engage her in both light-hearted and deep conversation, generally, we're both happy.

'Impressing' someone however, does exactly that. It creates and impression only.

Just don't think about it, I suppose the best thing to do is to just leave it.
"Be yourself" as they would say, but it's like themonkeyking says entertainment is probably the key, unless they are shallow, then it's all about the $$

If you are taking them on a date most want the "Romantic" side. If that is the kind of impressing you are talking about. Impress them by listening, and maybe actually incorporating what you like and what she likes into the date. Could be disastrous. Could be the best. I don't know it's just an idea. You didn't really leave to much detail.

As to getting rid of that desire why bother?

That's actually a good question. It's because it makes me confused about the fulfillment that I could experience by living life the way I want to.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

I'm not really sure if it's specifically the desire to impress women, but to impress in general.

I notice many guys like to go around trying to impress everyone they come across, as if it's really important. Perhaps people like that see it was a status thing, but I'm not entirely sure they are connected. I am almost entirely sure that you can raise your own status immensely, without acting like that.

My assumption these days is that if someone is trying to impress, they're insecure. For that reason alone I try to behave as if I have nothing to prove, and to be honest, I don't.

I believe the desire to impress a woman comes from trying to let her know all of our awesomeness because we think that it will make her attracted to us.

I solved this problem by being a fun guy, a mystery and by being a good listener.
