If you're not using Mozilla Firefox already, download it. There are a bunch of browser add-ons and one of them will allow you to save streaming videos to your computer. You have to save the file into a .flv format, then download a compatible player. It's all free.

I advise you to peep this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2584/

There are other ways to do it too, which I'm sure you could find with a little Googling.

http://keepvid.com/

Copy the link to the video you want to save, than paste it into the navigation bar on keepvid.com/ Keepvid.com will produce a download link, and when it ask's you to save the file....rename it fromt he default "get_video" to something you wish.....but MAKE SURE you add .flv for example....say you download a video from you tube....what you do next is save it as something like this "howtosave.flv", or you will not be able to watch it. You will also need some sort of flv viewer. I recommend wimpy flv player.

I have VideoDownloader for Firefox and all I need to do is click on a little icon in the status bar, while being on the page with the video, and the whole video gets downloaded ready to view (e.g. AVI), with no need for different formats, no .flv, or special video players. Thought I'd spread the werd. :D
