how to close down the pre-date chatter?

I have a date next weekend with a girl from online. I made her really work for it. This increased her interest level.

Problem is that she sends me "what's up" emails. Like, "How was your day, I did bla bla." But since I've already got the date confirmed I see only downside here. It's like chatting after you number close, you can only screw it up. Also, my experience is that the online connection evaporates in real world, so better not to create false expectations. I don't want a stalker chick on my hands if she turns out to be weird.

Anyway, given that we've got a week to go, what do you guys recommend to put her in a holding pattern? I basically want to say, "See you next week" without being crass. Also, without lying, just in case it does work out.

So what are you going to do if you hit it off with her? Not to say you need to see her every other night, but I'll tell you one thing, women tend to get bored if they can only see you on the weekend. They'd rather see you occasionally during the week and skip the weekend every once in a while.

But as for your question about the emails, I'd text message her with a joke or something every other day and a message just saying, "hope your day is going well..." No huge conversations or anything that even needs a reply. Just something to let her know that I had a moment and thought about her. They like that kind of stuff, that's why she's sending you all those emails. Learn how to manage your communications with her.
