Like isn't it harder cause if you are too much of an ******* you will start getting a beating, or some of the big guys will say "shut the fvck up idiot", just because they are not smart enough to say anything else. It helps because of reasons that you're saying...because AFCs WILL often resort to physical threats. But it's not impossible to be small and the Alpha Male. It's just a different sort of challenge.
Being big and tough alone won't make you Alpha, either.
Maybe you should hit the gym if it bugs you that much. If this is a problem in your eyes, work toward fixing it. It's well within your power.

The "tough guy" schtick only works to a certain age -- like maybe high school. By college age it is over for "tough guys." Then other skills that don't involve physical combat determine who is a leader.
After high school, it is almost unheard of for guys to determine social standing by threats of violence, let alone actual fights. (Exceptions would include biker bars and the mafia.)
So no, in general, dominance in adult life is mental, not physical.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Well, remembering back a zillion years to my highschool days, the really tough mean guys didn't exactly command a large following of girls. On the other hand, this short guy with a quick and sarcastic wit was obviously dominant in whatever classroom he was in, including with the bigger tough guys. They could have kicked his a** but they never even threatened it.

I agree with previous posts, but having combat skills shouls be a must for all men of all ages. I mean, never look for a fight. Avoid at all costs. But, you have to bea able to defend yourself and your honor. Nothing will b*tch you up quicker than getting that azz whipped by a similar sized guy and knowing you were helpless.
