Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

lately my relationship with one of my friends of about 6 years is gettin pretty rocky. hes now got a girlfriend who he is obsessed over. shes a 7.5. anyway, friday night we are at work together and i need saturday off for Confirmation. he has the night off and says that hell work for me. granted he doesnt want to cuz he wants to chill with his gf. we also had our conflicts friday night too. as i am the new worker i am SUPPOSED to get all the hard work. i can understand that, but im not that easy. so friday i am willing to live with these rules to an extent. so after a while clearing table, i just go up and grab the dishcloth from my friend because drying silverware is easier work, and hes like, "you go clear the table, your the newbie" (as hes trying to take it back. Im just like, "its your turn buddy" so he goes to do it. this isnt what started our conflict as that would be rediculous, but it started getting rocky before that.

so saturday afternoon comes around and i call him to confirm that he'll work for me. hes says "i cant...go find someone else". now ive only got this job 3 weeks ago and dont have anyone elses number to call to work for me. i simply do not have time to go to the restaurant and get the number sheet (its 230 and i gotta be at the church at 315) . so another kid that works there and we dont really hang out but were cool, i call him and theres no answer. so i call my friend back and say, "why cant you work for me?" he says "cuz im going out with my gf tonight" im like "listen to me, will you just do this for me this one time!?!?" hes like "fine...you owe me" so i think we are all set.

tonight, another one of my close friends who works with me IMs me and says "u ***** lol...having (lets call my friend john) john call for you"...i dont know what hes talking about. basically heres what happened. John called the manager and said that i was afraid to call to find someone to work for me...so the manager called another worker and had someone else work for me. the manager told my other friend to have me call the manager next time i need a night off and not have john call to tell him that i need a night off

i admit i should have a number sheet. but i would have picked one up friday night had john told me he couldnt work for me. he said he could. all this cuz john wanted to go out with his gf he just met. weve been boys for 6 years and he betrays me like this cuz of his gf. to me thats shallow. how should i handle this??

ive considered A.) shoving him into a locker tomorrow when i see him B.) leaving him a message on myspace full of neg hits and knock him that way C.) ignore him and just go explain to the manager the truth, and just avoid john altogether.

whatever i choose, i have to talk to the manager. i want to beat the sh!t out of him (obviously). but im leaning toward plan B, leaving him a message on myspace ruining him. any other ideas and what would you do??

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

How about you consider these methods:

D.) Understand that he has other responsibilities now that he has a girlfriend (although there IS that one principle of "bros-before-hoes"), and just reward him for being there when you needed him instead of emphasizing the fact that he couldn't work for you once...out of X amount of times.

E.) Discuss the issue(s) with him. You two have been friends for 6 years; what's the hurt in talking to him about what's going through your mind man? If it's anybody, it's your best friend that you can at least open up to. Sort it out non-violently.

F.) Talk to your manager directly and let him know that you have mandatory church matters to attend to, and request for a more flexible shift/schedule, or change your work days so you can be there for both Confirmation AND work.

Non-violent, simple, and clean.
