"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Hi,

Yesterday I found myself having a completely unexpected conversation with a girl but I am wondering if I should have acted a different way or said something else.

On the bus after work, I sat next to a hot girl that I noticed even before the bus arrived, she coughed once, the second time she did I looked at her less than one second and she immediately asked me if there was something wrong,

I replied no

She said that she noticed I looked at her and was wondering if something was wrong.

I then replied that It was just a natural reflex when I hear somebody coughing next to me.

She then said I’m not allowed to cough ?

And I replied : Today you can because I’m in a good mood

She laughed and explained that it was because of the dust in the air, we then had a long conversation and I noticed that she laughed at all my unfunny jokes (intentionally unfunny)

I think we had a nice interaction so I asked her to give me her phone number since we were coming closer to my bus stop. She told me she would prefer that I give her my number, she saved it in her phone and we talked a little bit more before I arrived at my stop.

I don’t think she will call me back but I was wondering how would you have handled it ?

Thank you

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

In my experience, when people you rarely see tell you to give them your number as a response to when you ask them about their number, they usually won't call back and just use that line as a decoy.

You did a good job with that comeback, she probably asked you what was wrong because she was interested and wanted you to start a conversation with her. But instead of asking for the number, tell her to do it as a command and you will notice more success when picking up numbers.

"well it was nice talking to you, write your number in my phone and ill call you sometime" - when you command her to do it, her brain is more likely to pursue that command than if you give her a question.

thanx, the most frustrating part about having close to no experience with women is that I never know what I am doing wrong. I must have said or done something that turned her off but I have no idea what it is
