How should a man act when a woman is expressing high emotions?

How should a man act when a woman is balling her eyes out crying over her boyfriend fighting with her, or she got fired from a job, or she is fighting with her friend etc.??

Specifically if the woman is not your blood relative or your girlfriend.

Unfortunately I always in situations where my friends girlfriend, or one of my female friends is crying and very emotional of a situation.

How should a man act around all this? I catch myself being TOO "aww its okay" type of attitude and I realized...maybe I shouldn't be...thoughts?

I always just try to eject myself from those situations ASAP. Those outbursts are just outbursts, women rarely want solutions to their problems. They just want an emotional outlet. Not very fair when you think about it.

I'll tell her what the solution is ONCE. Then just try to cut things off as quickly as possible and leave.

I think twice I actually sat down and engaged a girl like this. I logically started to figure out a solution to her problems, the root causes, etc, etc. Girl looked at me like I was crazy. And I wasn't making any unusual suggestions either.

What she wanted was to cry and be sad and wallow in pity for a while. It's always about some entitlement or thing they don't deserve but expect anyway.

And all she would let me do is just feed her ego and validate her nonsense.

What I always do is just suggest going for drinks to talk about it. I figure if I can have a drink it's not so bad and in a bar there's at least a remote chance I might get lucky.
