How Much More Attractive are Women with Cool, Male-Friendly Hobbies?

I've wondered how much more attractive women are when they possess some cool, male friendly hobbies. I have examples to share in this thread. The bottom line is that I think it makes an impact and sometimes a very significant one. Let's go through women possessing interest in some cool, male-friendly hobbies.

Please let me know your thoughts about these hobbies and some other hobbies that I missed in this forum post.

Golf

Many men like to golf. I'm starting with golf because of a story from my personal life.

One of my male friends likes to play golf. It is his biggest passion in life.

My friend ended up marrying a woman whose biggest passion in life is playing golf.

The entirety of her SMV would be her above average breasts and her high skill level in playing golf.

When she was single, plenty of men wanted to have sex with her and most overlooked her subpar social skills in favor of her breasts and her golf playing. When men date her, they have someone to join them in golf who is actually skilled at golf.

There is nothing interesting about this woman other than the fact that she plays golf. She has zero charisma, she has a mediocre face, she is highly introverted, and borderline socially awkward. She doesn't make a good first impression in any social setting. She doesn't seem to be able to discuss much in depth other than her white collar job and golf. She has almost zero female friends. She is on ok terms with the wives of her husband's friends, but none of them really like her that much. She didn't make those connections on her own.

While this might be a more extreme example, I think a woman who is skilled at golf automatically becomes more desirable to men who play golf.

Tennis

In real life, I have seen very few couples meet as a result of both being skilled at tennis. In general, tennis is a sausage fest. There are more males than females who are competitive recreational players. Few women would be able to play a Best of 3 set match competitively with a man.

Tennis is not a very good sport for arranging dates for a variety of reasons.

Tennis can work for 40+ men seeking 40+ women in a country/racquet club setting, but these 40+ women are often worse players than the men and they are single moms with children living off of the ex-husband's alimony.

A younger, childless woman who is good at tennis would be very appealing to tennis playing men.

Sand Volleyball

Women who play sand volleyball recreationally in their 20s/30s often have very high SMV. Their playing of sand volleyball has a lot to do with it.

When a woman plays sand volleyball recreationally, it is usually a sign that she played indoor volleyball competitive in high school and possibly college. She is usually 5'9"-6'2" and in good shape. She is usually seeking top tier 6'0"+ men via sand volleyball. Those are often the only men reliably taller than she is, depending upon her own height.

In recreational play and in co-ed sand volleyball leagues, so many men chase after women who play sand volleyball. So many guys shoot their shot with these women. I think this is the hobby where skillful women get the most male attention.

A guy like @MatureDJ would struggle in this format due to the height of the women. Many average height guys struggle to stand out at sand volleyball courts due to the height of the women and what they seek. Charisma only goes so far here, so I do recommend average height guys have charisma in general.

Weight Lifting

Many women lift some weights these days. The free weights and barbells section of most gyms has more men than women in it. Women with some muscle definition who look feminine get a lot of attention too. The biggest downside in this hobby is that there are a small percentage of women who take it too far and then their physiques start to look unfeminine. Some of those women are only sexually interested in women though.

Automotive or Motorcycles

This set of women is challenging to assess.

Women who are into automotive or motorcycle related topics at a more surface level are likely more attractive. If they have some knowledge of cars or motorcycles, then I could imagine them bonding well with some men.

If the knowledge level goes too far or they actually make a living as auto or motorcycle mechanics, then I don't think those women would attract as many men. A female auto mechanic also is less likely to be heterosexual and may prefer having sex with women. I have yet to meet a female motorcycle mechanic but I would imagine the same would be true there.

I can imagine a woman who rides motorcycles to be appealing to men.

Absolutely not, I don't find gym thots attractive because it makes them look like weird and masculine.

I have been playing tennis since childhood. I would have liked to have had more extended relationships with tennis playing women.

One time, I met a tennis playing woman at a public court. We went out twice. It was a bit of a disaster. No sex and I caught her in some lies.

Despite that bad experience, it would be good to meet some tennis playing women. It would have been better to have happened 10-15 years ago.

Why do you think women who play tennis are sexy? I agree that there are many tennis playing women who are sexy.

Automotive

If she's in to cars and drives a sexy car sure.

I have dated women into cars and ones that drive sexy cars. These women weren't too into cars.

Most women will not be fixing their own cars.

You lost me with the mechanic part.

There are female auto mechanics. It is rare. This is a well known example of one. I am surprised that she is heterosexual and married to a man.

It doesn't really factor into attraction for me personally. I like what I like, she likes what she likes, I don't really care whether they're the same things.

A woman who participates in the same hobbies as I might be nice for a little while, but I'm not looking to compete with somebody, or feel obligated to hold their hand.

For example, I'm a huge gamer. There are two mobile games I play regularly that my 2 most recent exes became HEAVILY invested in as a result of dating me (Jurassic World Alive and Monster Hunter Now). That was fun because they enjoyed watching me nerd out, and I suppose they saw it was a way to spend more time with me (even if indirectly).

However, I will bring up this point because I think it's a bit of a double-edged sword:

On the other hand, I don't want to be the one to motivate her to be fit, because then I have to divert MY workout to accommodate HERS. This is the same reason I don't like working out with a partner or friends - I just want to do what I came there to do, then go home.

My mom was dead-set on getting a Harley Davidson at one point in her life. My family had to collectively talk her out of it. Which is surprising, because she worked as a nurse, and had a nickname for patients who came in as a result of motorcycle accidents: "donorcycles", with the implication that they would probably die and become organ donors.

Even @The Duke described how he had a near-fatal accident that changed his life.

I don't have any desire to engage in thrill-seeking activities that have a high likelihood of killing me, so I'd like to find a woman that I'm not at risk of losing in such a manner.

It's not 98% of her SMV. My friend has had a relationship with her for over 10 years. They have gotten married and had a child together.

Above average breasts are not enough to sustain a relationship for 10+ years. Her breasts are good, but her face is mediocre and the rest of her physique has been very average. I haven't seen her in person or on social media since the childbirth.

The golf playing commonality is a big part of why that relationship has lasted a long time.

With many fit couples, they do not exercise at the same gym. Fit couples often meet through apps, nightlife venues, non-gym daygame, or social circles.

With fit couples, the woman is often into fitness without the presence of the man. She was into fitness before meeting him and had a good routine.

Again, a woman who enters that space without trying to be “one of the guys” often stands out far more than someone relying on predictable, surface-level appeal. In this case, it’s a mix of psychological independence, boldness, confidence, understated tension, and selective detachment.

I wouldn’t say much more attractive, but the fact that it is rare can peak some interest.

Golf and tennis seem like gender neutral sports. See a lot of women play both.
Sand volleyball, Brazilian Olympic team comes to mind. Tall and thin. Nice butts usually zero up top.
Weight lifting, only to tone up. If taken too far they start looking like dudes.
Mechanic, sounds cool. Her dad probably never had a son so she did things a boy would have learned. The chic in the video has colored hair and covered in tats, not feminine at all.
I like to cycle and on occasion there is a smoke show out on the road doing her thing.

The appeal I think is the rarity of it. Problem is, most of these women in male dominated sports are usually lesbians or a little too close to being overly masculine. Look at Caitlin Clark. She is a badass at playing basketball and has mad skills. At the same time, she looks like she missed being a dude by a small fraction. Her skills on the court are admirable but I wouldn’t say she was sexier because of them.

Women having hobbies at all seems to be rare so when you see a chic that likes to, it adds uniqueness.

I have a coworker that likes to fish. Sounds cool and rare. Maybe not rare for a country girl but rare in the Silicon Valley.

Having grown up a tomboy (hunting, shooting, fishing, politics, sports & cars) made me deeply understand men and the male psyche. I had to make efforts in my late teens/early 20s to develop my girly side.....

But boy it paid off. Like @Clockwerk50 said, it is deeply seductive. Obviously looks don't hurt, but to be knowledgable and conversant and be able to do or discuss male things while having a sexy feminine presence? Very powerfully magnetic.

The appeal I think is the rarity of it.

I think there is some appeal in the rarity of it, driving up demand for some of these women.

The sand volleyball women are often in very big demand in rec league and pickup games. They have the combination of tallness (rare), good physiques, and interest in athletics.

Golf and tennis seem like gender neutral sports.

The typical female tennis player seems to be more attractive than the typical female golfer.

I can't imagine anyones saying gee, that b!tch is a water buffalo (to borrow an expression from @Solomon) but she rides a motorcycle, that's so hot!!!! And conversely no one has ever said dang, she's so fine but too bad she doesn't have any cool hobbies, I'm not touching her with a ten foot pole! It just doesn't work like that.

It is also somewhat rare for hot, feminine women to be into male hobbies just like it's unusual for masculine men to be into girly hobbies. When was the last time you met a high testosterone, heterosexual male who was into pole dancing or discovering cute, instagramable resultants?

It's not zero. I think having a cool hobby can add something like 1 SMV point. It might turn a 6 into a 7 or something like that.

My golf playing friend married a woman mostly on her golf playing hobby. She has very little to offer on the personality side of female SMV beside golf. I am not the only one in the social circle to observe this.

A cool hobby isn't going to make a subpar looking woman attractive but it can make a difference for a mid woman.

I have never met a heterosexual man who is into either of those things.

However, it is somewhat common for heterosexual men to follow female Instagram content creators who find those types of places in a given area. They might use those posts for ideas on places to take a girlfriend or wife.

It depends man. Id on't think women need much more than a personality, just like guys do.. Personality is so important and having a personality usually means having hobbies to go along with it.. I've known girls who were dancers (not just the stripper kind), girls who rode JDM cars, motorcycles, i've known girls who made music, were tattoo artists, etc.. It just gives them more of a personality..

I remember there were some guys on here a while back that spoke alot about having a "Character" or "Archetype" to fit.. That stuff makes alot of sense.. The more easily poeple can understand who you are basedo n your distinct Personality and hobbies and self expression that goes along wiht it- the easier it is for them to assign some idea to it, thus attraction/desire becomes easy..

Think back to those dweeby pickup artists we all know like Mystery.. His whole archetype was corny, dressing like hes the "life of the party" but really women didn't care because the guy had such a weird social game, he was socially awkward yet --his height really carried him and he had no idea till much later. But dressing like a silly party guy with the big hats and stupid scarfs and accessories made it easy for women to see him as a fun time.. Why do guys who skateboard, ride motorcycles and or have tattoos get women easily? It's an easy archetype that relates to "cool", hot" etc.

I don’t think Mystery needed 1/10 of his routines and tricks. He has great height, great hair and a good jawline in his prime.

I think Strauss was very initially disarming with his metro/gay-like vibe. Then maybe he dropped his celebrity-like connections in his conversations?

For Neil he played the harmless fun guy and targeted women who were middle aged and lacked excitement in their life.. so did Mystery.. With some younger more "City girl" types, they would both probably do pretty bad.

I don't think it really matters at all. An attractive woman who plays golf is an attractive woman playing golf. It might make her easier to meet, or it might be cool to play golf with her, but she's still either attractive or not.

It could even have a negative effect if she's into a heavily male hobby, and thus has flocks of male friends and orbiters around her at all times.
