How many phone tries?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Worrying when and how often to call is a symptom of the early stages of oneitis. Time to diversify.

I didn't mean to finger point, but I'm speaking from past experience. The only occasions I have worried about calling is when I put too much at stake on a single girl.

I'm only speaking from my own very recent experience. When she was into me, everytime I called, she was there, or her friend was there to pick up the phone and tell me call later. When she lost interest, I couldn't reach her in more than two weeks on the phone. I say, try again tomorrow, if no one answers, leave a message and try again in the evening. If no one answers, forget it!!

Initially I gave this girl a lot of benefits of a doubt---not home, busy signals, going on the net perhaps, etc. etc. I thought I overanalyzed...I thought it was only my insecurities...but no, it was real--as a girl told me, when she wanted to get a phone call, she would always make sure that she was there to pick up a phone...So true.

I disagree with the standard advice ...

I do not block caller ID, and I usually leave a message if she's not in.

I've found the ones who are genuinely interested *will* call back, *unless* they live with parents, housemates, etc., in which case they might not even *get* the message. If I hear a voice that's obviously not hers on the greeting, I'll rarelly leave a message.

If it's obviously a cell phone (i.e., the greeting gives you the option of paging them), you know they'll almost certainly get the message. But I did go out with one gal who got in the habit of deleting messages *just* after listening to them!

A lot of gals are hip to caller ID blocking, and spot patterns much more easily than you think. Be straightforward and save yourself the *time*.
