How many guys really look clean and smell good?

Hi guys,

One typical advise we hear on sosuave is "hit the gym", I will be the first to say, as a former skinny guy, this can make a difference from zero to hero. Don´t listen to your girlfriends who say a strong athletic body isn´t important, perhaps because it´s somewhat rare and they are mostly chased by average guys. If you are chasing a hot girl, and super athletic guy comes by, in a gathering you will know by intuition that he his a menace. Although you can still "beat" him, you will have to game her very skillfully because the thoughts of having sex with the hot guy will be there. So, simply become the hot guy, is not as difficult as you think.

Now to the next point, one thing we don´t hear so much and perhaps because it should be obvious, is a "look clean and smell good", many guys are simply gross to be nearby, and their girlfriends and ex´s must be terribly brave to be around them. This of course, is something that people will never tell you, a girl will simply flake on you and you don´t have a clue why... I have to count the guys i Know that "look" good when I´m speaking close to them, many man have bad skin, hair, teeth, and worse of all breath (very few guys I know smell decent when they open their mouths).

Many guys on the forum , are not very outgoing, and people who don´t hang out too much tend to let themselves go, more than other.

I ask you, do most of your friends look clean?

Many ugly girls, become attractive with makeup on, and a nice perfume because being clean is sexy, this has also an impact on men. Don´t underestimate this. The "Ewww" you hear most of time, is most likely to be related to looks/cleaniness than "being a "nice guy".

I make a big effort. I literally brush my teeth 4-5 times a day, even when I'm at work. I also use the dental strips regularly and a whitening toothpaste. I keep gum handy. I'm always on the lookout for nose hairs, ear hairs, etc. I'm blessed with good skin so I dont have to do much in that area. I keep my nails trimmed. I do shower usually twice a day. Not only is this good for when you're near a girl, it also boosts your confidence when you put effort into your appaearance. My ex brother in law is such as slob, my sister must have just gotten used to it.

^^ ya never underestimate the need for clean, fresh breath.

I used to have a terrible case of Halitosis and it wasn't until my best friend pointed out my horse $hit breath that I addressed that issue.

I found the Dr Katz "Therabreath" products fully effective and continue to use them daily.

on a side note a girl is just as annoyed with wearing too much cologne as body odor, so just a small spritz will do!

This guy used to come into our offices once a month. I called him "old spice" as whenever he came in
the entire building smelled like old spice...you always knew when he was there even without visual confirmation.

I know a guy with stank breath. Its always bad and it smells like he brushes his teeth with dog sh*t. People avoid him. He's got a gf though...you'd think she'd say something...god I wish she'd say something haha.

There's a thread on the DJ Tips forum that goes into depth on how to properly use cologne. Some colognes need an exorbitant amount of sprays to be effective; some only need one or two.

Buy and use a tongue scraper every time you brush your teeth, and use it before you go out.

And most bad breath can be stopped by changing your diet (some of you nasty f*cks need to stop eating crap).

As far as fashion goes, the avoid being the douchebag "mall" guy who clearly buys his entire outfit from the crappy malls. Develop your own style. Learn some basics about fashion, style, and grooming. Think it's gay? Go ahead and stay ignorant while guys like me clean up the fashion-aware girls you've been lusting over. Because trust me, they notice if your shoes don't match your belt and your shirt isn't the right cut for your body type. They notice the difference between the dumb ass guys that just go to Hollister and blindly buy that crap, and the guy who developed his own style.
