I seem to be most effective when my only focus is just to make people feel comfortable. I do this by trying to clear out my mind, making sure I feel comfortable (how you feel is contagious), completely removing myself from the outcome (make sure you come across as you want nothing) and then focusing on the other person as if they're the only person in the world.

I notice this at my job. I sell most cars when my customers are very comfortable around me
