How do I respond to these questions?

Things with my girlfriend have been going well and her interest is sky high, but lately she's been asking a lot of upfront questions and I've not know how to answer them.

Here's what I mean:


"Have you ever been in love?" & "Who with?"

"If you could be with anyone in the world, who would it be?"

"Do you fancy <insert name of friend>?"

"How many women have you slept with?"

"Do you think we will last?"

"Do I ever piss you off?" or "Do you ever get bored of me sometimes?"

"Before we got together was there anyone else you liked?"


She's actually quite a confident and secure girl, but she does have me on a pedestal and sees our relationships as special. I'm a bit more casual about it, but I don't mind that. These questions sound like seeking reassurance, but I don't know how I should answer them. Do I tell her what she wants to hear and risk her taking me for granted, do I keep her on her toes, or (as I have been doing) make a joke and change the subject.

Any pointers would be welcome as I've been coming under fire from a lot of these questions lately.

Thanks. We've been kinda seeing each other for 4 months, but only been an item for about a month with a break from seeing each other over xmas (due to study).

Thanks for the link. I've read that tip some time ago, but really need to refresh my memory.

Another thing she does is when she asks me if I fancy her friend and I say no, she points out I never fancy anyone, and concludes that I must be lying sometimes?!

She is either feeling insecure, looking for reassurance and fishing for compliments. OR, she is very secure in the relationship and wants to make you jump some hoops, playing the "tell me I'm pretty" game! We aren't there and only you can tell the diffrence.

Welcome back to the boards Watertiger and thanks for the response. What you suggested is near enough what I have been doing. It usually holds her off, but then she'll ask again.

It probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but in all my past relationships this is around the point where I fvck up! She thinks I'm a player (most women do) so I get a lot of trust problems and jealousy from women. The more I reassure them the less interested they get, while not reassuring them causes them not to trust me.

Thanks JC. That makes a lot of sense to me as many of our conversations have given off similar signs that she sees a future and wants to get serious, and clearly you talk from experience.

As for the cheating, I never thought I'd have that problem, but I really need to sort that out if I get serious with this girl!

Very wrong there dude. Considering the state I was in when I came to this board to literally having groupies and women approach and number close me, and a hot girlfriend, and more friends than I can keep up with and so on, I've made some pretty huge steps.
