"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Typical oneitis story; went no contact. More so I have so much more important things to concentrate on. She lives in a neighbouring town. Due to circumstances, a female friend of mine was staying at hers and I was in town and visiting her. Thing is my accommodation fell through and her parents invited me to stay. I was very reluctant. She was very keen. So I stayed the night; a night filled with awkward tension, her showing me off to her family all the while my other female friend seemed to have 'disappeared' or lurked in the background as if trying to get me and said oneitis to patch things up.

Well I am back in her town over the next few days and wanted to give my thanks to her parents by dropping off a gift. By no means is this some type of ploy by me to get back in with her hence my hesitance and post. I am not sure how to go about this as I honestly do not want to see said oneitis and what if I do?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Bro I don't know the whole story but the post makes no sense. By telling us 'by no means is this some ploy to get back together with her' means it is a ploy. You are already getting defensive when no one has even asked you a question.

You want to give her parents a gift for letting you stay with them, and you are seriously concerned about seeing your oneitis again? Do you think she will fall in love with you or you will fall in love with her if you see each other? You already saw her at the house and she didn't say anything like she is love with you so I think you are OK to see her again.

The parents haven't asked for a gift or to meet you in person so why are you creating an issue for yourself? You are like the Arsonist and Fireman. Just mail the gift or take them out to dinner without the oneitis if you are that concerned about sparks flying if you see her again. Not rocket science.

Cheers buddy I dunno. I think it is more for me that I know I can feel her creeping back into my psyche and I know I just don't have the skill set to be ready for it yet. But then I was raised with more traditional values and that in our household when someone invites you in, you are obligated to return the favour especially seeing as I am down her neck of the woods. Not to mention my other friend bought Christmas gifts when she stayed at said oneitis's house so I am feeling pressured. She messaged me the other day regarding things I'd left behind at hers but I honestly don't remember having left anything.

The way you put it but, I feel like I should just donate the gift to a local charity and move on though. Honestly it is not a ploy. I was just pre-empting the likely replies I may get as I have been around long enough to know for what this to look like from the outside.
