How did you find your calling?

I'm a senior in high school this year, which means that I'm supposed to be in full-on college mode. But while everyone around me knows exactly want they want to be, I don't have even the slightest of clues. I don't even have a general sort of field I want to be in. I don't really have a "calling".

In fact, I'm interested by most things. I find the idea of a "calling" ridiculous. I prefer broad knowledge over deep knowledge. The quote which ends with "Specialization is for insects" speaks to me.

But this is not very application-friendly, let alone Ivy-friendly.

What do I do?

Life experience bro. Like anyone else, try a few things and figure out what works for you. Unless you have an all-encompassing passion this is what most people do.

How well is the Bahrainian economy faring these days? If it sucks like ours you might not want to put so much money into a collegiate education, at least for the time being.

Strangely enough I found my "calling" through the pickup community and reading the Book Of Pook. So try to push yourself out of your comfort zone to find where you fit in the world. Learn to love yourself and no one else, believe YOU are the sh1t. Then you will wake up one day with all the pieces to the puzzle.
