"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

how critical is my APARTMENT?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Have you considered going for the "Blade Runner" look?

Darken the room, let the walls get dirty, buy a rusty fan for the corner, and start drinking.

I've done this the hard way as well.

I used to live in a Studio Apartment - in LA - 970 a month.

It wasn't much, and I slept on the Futon in the middle of the room (could not even affrod furniture at the time).

I meet this really, very, very hot chick - and to say the least I was somewhat concerned about bringing her home to my place - so I avoided it for a while - but eventually has to do it.

Not a problem - she actually like my place, and stayed there most nights - and we ended up having a 5 yr relationship.

I think a coupole of things.

1) Make sure the complex you live in is clean and well maintained. Neighbours tell a story about the place itself.

2) Clean, Clean, Clean.

3) Toilets are a big deal - especially the shower. Make sure it's scum free and clean

4) Put clothes away. You can buy handly organzers for closets etc. that are cheap and easy to install. It goes a long way to store your items and not have them stacked in a room or corner.

5) Magazines and photo's (of yourself/paces you've been things you've done)

6) scents. you can by fresh scents from any store - don't go overboard.

7) Comfort. Make sure your place is clean and organized - but also lived in. A place that's to 'put together' is not comfortable. You want a woman to feel like she can kick of her shoes and lounge on your sofa.

Cleanliness is huge. Like you say, it doesn't have to be overly organized, and in fact this is kind of a Queer Eye type turnoff... but as long as it's clean that's a major factor.

I remember one conversation I had with a girl. She was talking about this guy she broke up with because of his apartment. I asked if it was messy... she said "no, it wasn't messy... but it was dirty... you know, bathroom dirty".

I think the same goes for your car. For most girls a schfancy sports car is not necessary... but for your car to work properly and not have McDonalds' bags in the back seat is a priority.

Assuming that your apartment is already neat and cleaned. I think your place should speak to your individuality and not look like Queer Eye came over and set you up.

A similar post long ago (or it might have been an article on the main page) said something about putting away those cheap posters. Howabout getting a frame for them. Of course, it depends on the poster so use common sense here. If you have a playboy centerfold poster, no! But if you have a vintage movie poster you're fond of (I have one from the 1987 movie Wings of Honneamise), get a good frame for it. Not expensive, they're about $20.

Invest in an air purifier. It will not only make the air smell better but it will remove allergens and other stuff.

Wine: I wouldn't bother with the wine rack thing some articles I've seen elsewhere suggest. Chances are your apartment isn't climate controlled and that is bad for storing wine. And a wine rack in plain sight is incorrectly stored anyway, as wine should be kept away from light. Best to only buy wine on an as needed basis (from good wine stores that know how to store wine properly) and keep it in your fridge for short term only.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
