"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Alright, here's the scene: A couple of nights ago, I went to this meet-up group for the first time. No need to get into details about the group, but needless to say there was a serious HB8.5 there, and I smoothly made my way to the seat next to her. The group met out on a patio at a nearby restaurant, and there were about 20 of us. Anyhow. We start rapping, and there's some good rapport going. We definitely connected. Then, pretty soon some dude came around and started c-blocking me. She clearly wasn't interested in him, but it's hard to tell someone to shut up in such a social situation without being rude. Up to that point a number close was a given. Then, by the end of the evening nearly everyone was down at our end of the party. Getting her number at that point would have been WAY awkward. Eventually, she left, and I did too very shorlty after that.

Question: What could I have done differently to number close here? It was a strange situation. I'll probably see her again at the next meeting, and I want to be prepared. Thanks!

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Well playa im new at this but if your gonna see her agian this situation might work in your favor. SHe might think "hey why didnt this guy have the balls to ask my number yet" but she also might think "hmm this guy is diffrent why didnt he ask me for my number, whats worng."

So the next time you see her make sure u act as if you rellay dont care about hooking up or getting her number, keep the flirting to a minimum but do lead her on. So once she knows ur intrested she will keep wondering why u havent asked her number yet and then when she least expect it just say

"Hey i gotta run anyway, give me your number I'd like to talk to you again"

hand her your cellphone if its a noisy place.

there u have it playa

Thanks for the heads up kk, and I appreciate the advice, but that doesn't really help in a crowded situation like I was in. I feel very self-conscious about asking for a number when there's ten other people hovering over us. It's not like we're in a loud bar or club or something; it's more of an intimate setting.

Hasn't anyone had an experience in such a situation?

Simple, "Hello, I've never seen you here before , are you a new member? Why did you join the group?"

Go from there. Be straightforward!
