How can I straighten my life out?

Hey guys, didn't want to spam this forum by making more threads, so I will just add this question here.

Uber seems promising, but I have no car. I can get a car through uber or by renting one for the purpose of uber driving. Does anybody here have experience with this sort of thing? Either renting or buying then slowly paying off a car with uber?

I have no car, make minimum wage, no college degree though I have taken college classes on and off over the past 5 years, live with parents but pay rent. The area I live in has no transit and I walk to work since my job is just right outside my apartment complex. I have over 3000 saved for a used car.

What would you do in my situation?

I read a bit into this thread. So far I got that you're 23. Living at home and making minimum wage. What I would do in your situation is:

-Join the military if you don't know what you want to do. Not easy anymore to get in I know. But you never know unless you try.
-Figure out what you want to do. Go back to school or consider technical school.

Your main priority at this point is to get on a life path. Figure out what you want to do. Get financially stable. Continue to save money for that used car. I agree having a car would help you situation.

But honestly, it doesn't sound like a good deal. They require you to finance the car on your own. Don't know how much Uber will pay but make sure it more then what you have to pay back in return to rent a car.

I don't want to join the military since that is basically guaranteed chastity until I am 27.

Right now I am actually trying for line cook positions that I know pay $11-$12 an hour. Still low wage but good enough to get that car faster and move with roommates. Also, I got another prospect which is with Aflac. Someone from that company found my resume on Monster.com and wants to interview. I know insurance salesmen can make at least pretty decent money if they work hard, which I am willing to.

Once I get back into school its back into either computer science or networking.

I'm in the i t industry in a position where I see a lot of different projects and jobs. Honestly for a young guy starting out I wouldn't recommend it the good times are gone in i t. I think you'd be better off with a trade. I'd suggest electrician in trying eventually get certified on air conditioning. That kit is all automated now for the larger buildings and if you can get some product qualifications you become a sought-after commodity. woman love Tradies and it's easier to start your own business which is a much more naturally Alpha setup. Just my 2 cents worth but look at my age and rep count before you dismiss it out of hand. As the saying goes advice is the only good thing you can't give away.
