horrible farts...eating too mujch?

wellive been trying to get my daily protein intake seriously lately and with this increase in food ive been getting horrible farts. like the ones that make people think you have something seriously wrong with your insides. is this normal or am i just eating tooo much food?

List what kind of proteins you're eating. Could be you're allergic to something or you're body is trying to get adjusted to the big increase in protein. Farts are to be expected but if you're farting uncontrollably ever 5-10 minutes all day. Something is definitely funky.

Look into digestive enzymes NOW foods makes some good ones. Also are you adding fiber somehow with all your protein meals/shakes? Generic brand metamucil is cheap (pscyllium sp? husk) and you can throw a teaspoon in shakes or drink with meals. Or eat more beans/fibrous veggies/grains with protein.

These are things you should look into. If you're a relatively small fellow. Do a small increase of protein intake over time as your body might not be making use of it if you jump directly into eating huge amounts because you lack the size/musclemass to utilize all the amino acids.

I would start at 1.25 grams X BW and then slowly increase to 1.5. Then after a while bump it up some more and see if it helps gains.

Metamucil may not make the farts smell any better, but it will dilute them and make them come out quicker,
