"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

alright, i have a bit of a problem, but i'm not even sure it's a problem.

- on new years eve, i brought home a girl that i met through a friend
- got her number, said i would call, but i haven't. i'm not interested. it was a one night thing for me.
- she's been calling me tonight really late, and i haven't answered. she hasn't left a message.
- i feel guilty

now, the question is....should i feel guilty? i mean...yes, i'm a bastard for saying i would call and not calling, but...am i obligated to? i guess what i'm asking is....if you take home a girl the first night you meet her, does she rightfully have an expectation that the guy should continue to pursue it? or is my behaviour acceptable?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable new years for the most part. :)

As far as you telling her you would call her, and not doing it is probably a little on the poor mannered side, and since you met her through a friend you should think of the repercussions that that may cause.

As far as being obligated to pursue anything, of course not. If it was a one night thing, then it was a one night thing. But as a nice thing to do, it never hurts to communicate the fact. You could still call her, or answer her calls, and tell her that A) you were drunk and had a good time, etc want to leave it at that, etc LJBF her, and atleast that way she wont hate you as much as never hearing from you again. And since you have mutual friends that could potentially bite you in the future. B) Call her, shmooz, keep her on the back burner if you are a real sh!t head, (but hey, who isnt, right?) for whenever.

Its up to you, but no, you arent obligated.

Though etiquette wise, it would probably be the nice thing to do to atleast tell her what is going on, wouldnt you want the same?

Ya I have to agree, I would at least tell her that it was what it was and then you can cut contact.

She'll of course get that message after time by ignoring her but you think that would be how you would want it done to you by a friends' buddy? Also women talk eh?
