"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Going to keep this short.

Homecoming is coming up, this girl who I kinda would like as a f-buddy wants me to ask her to go (I can definitely tell just by her actions). I don't want to go to homecoming. Right now I'm just ignoring it and advancing my goal of f-buddy.

My only threat is she decides "hes not taking me to homecoming so I'm going to look for other guys". While I realize I don't want to be exclusive with her, shes the type of girl that would look for an exclusive relationship so she has someone to go to homecoming with.

Ideas?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

why exactly don't you want to go to homecoming?
$60 to sit in the school's cafe?

No thanks. I could split $60 out across like 4 nights out and have waaay more fun than spending it just to go to homecoming for one night. Plus tux rental and blah blah blaaah. Maybe senior year (I'm a junior), but just so I can say I did it.

If you don't take her, she will b!tch about it for weeks, and she will likely find another date. But the odds are probably 90% that he will be some afc who just screws it up anyway.

Spending money on a girl is often bad, but I think formal dances are one exception. They are incredibly stupid to us, but important to girls. You can still get what you want from her without the dance, but taking her may be the path of least resistance.

Not what I wanted to hear :(

I don't even know when homecoming is, all I know is they're selling tickets now and not for much longer.

I'll definitely think about it. How much are suit rentals?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

you don't have to rent a tux do you? homecoming at my school is semi formal, thrown on a nice button up shirt, slacks, tie, suspenders if you want w/e and you're good to go.

you could always propose to go somewhere else instead of homecoming, not sure how that would fly with her though.
