Should I get my date one of those flower thingies that is like a wrist band? (corsage or something, damn the french and their weird spelling), or is that going over the top?

I'm probably being too vague, so if any clarification is needed. . .

Perhaps I shouldn't because the occasion doesn't call for one (or maybe it does, how big was homecoming at your school?).

I got my girlfriend one for our Homecoming last Saturday. Here it's basically a tradition to get one for your date. It's all up to you I guess. Ask a friend.

See what everyone else is doing. Not to imply that you should be a follower and just do what everyone else does, but your date would be pretty pissed if she was the only girl that didnt have a corsage.

I asked, and she said she was getting me a flower for my shirt, so I told her I'd get her a corsage, s'all good.
