Hey guys, I noticed there's some controversial hot topics at the top of the list in anything else. I thought it might be fun to bring up some fun activities that for the most part don't involve pick-up.
Does anyone plan on taking up some fun hobbies this fall/winter?
Scuba
I just signed up for a scuba diving trip to Bali, Indonesia this winter. I have three months to hurry up and get
PADI certified.

It's going to put a dent in my pocketbook, yet I know it will be rewarding to work towards something fun. Plus, I'm sure it'll provide a ton of fun DHV stories down the road.
Hiking
I don't have many tall mountains to climb in the city I live in, so I've been doing HIIT exercise to get my
VO2 levels up for increased blood circulation to help with elevation gains in altitude to summitting mountains. I've got a big climb coming up at the end of the month. 11,500 ft peak, 1,120 ft in elevation gain. Out and back 17.3 miles. Time will probably run 5:00am~4:00pm with some breaks for rest.
Archery
I bought a recurve bow this summer after doing a few group lessons. It's a slick bow. I've been practicing in my backyard, working on getting further distance between my target and working on nock, hook, and quick release. Also practicing from different standing places, angles with lower/higher elevation from the target. I may someday go on a hunting trip, yet would probably want to find like-minded experienced hunters to go with first.
