The days I am not lifting the weights, I am planning on smashing the punching bag (every punch as hard as I can).

But I hear boxing is a good form for burning off fat.

Would this affect my bulking ?

wrap your wrists well ,but not too tight- do a full body stretch and work the bag, combos, bobbing and weaving, jabs, power punches..it's lots of fun and a hell of a workout..the side benefit is that you will be conditioned to become a better defend yourself if you ever need to,just make sure you constantly moving around the bag and not just standing still.focus on your foot work also and you'll be fine ,just make sure your eating enough or you will be burning all of your calories off as well as muscle..

have fun

You'll build muscle if you're out of shape. If you already work out, it will have more cardio benefits than anything.

Bag Work = Money

Great cardio... can even replace run work. I literally built a 6 pack from mere anaerobic and bag work, and no running.

Tackle the muhfugger if you need to... great workout.

Nothing but good baby.
Now sparring, there's something to get you feeling like a man. Taking a punch to the face then dropping him with a body shot. Great stuff!

No problem. You should probably pick up a pair of bag gloves if your planning on using it. Constantly bleeding nuckles gets old fast.

Actually, start off with lighter punches and build up to power punching and the like. Your body has to adapt to the shocks the bag sends through your body. Your tendons, ligaments and bones have to gradually harden up. Most experts recommend two light bag workouts a week to start with.

id say it depends on the bag.

at my gym downtown i was rockin the bag like no other. the next day my right lat was sore as ****! The bag was broken in tho and moved around pretty easily. I dont think id go all out on a new bag that was very stiff and hard (no homo).

How hard you initially go shouldnt be a factor, stop if you start getting those pains which arnt normal muscle tiredness. The main thing with heavy bag work is to allow sufficient time for your muscles to recover, anything over 4 times a week is too much.

I dont recommend trying to do a bulking cycle while doing regular heavy bag training, apparently cardio burns up calories you need for putting on muscle. Someone with more experience in bodybuilding should be able to aloborate on this.

That lat soreness, I totally feel yah. I played that virtual boxing game. It sense your movement and stuff. I'll explain later if you want.

Anyways...that was sunday and today, my lats, my upper back, my forearms n pecs are all sore. Lats and forearms the most though.

You can still bulk while you do cardio as long as you eat sufficiant calories. It's not as efficient to bulk while doing cardio, but it is a good idea for overall health.

*bump*

Hooray ! In 2 weeks my painters course finishes, & I can finally, FINALLY, get back to the gym !

Another question.

My plan is to do:
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Chest/bi
Wednesday: Back
Thursday: Shoulders/tri

If I were to hit the bag on Friday/Saturday, would I burn myself out, or suffer muscle strain ?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
