I just watched an episode of the 1964 TV show The Outer Limits. In that show, a husband hit his wife in the face to stop her when she became hysterical. She became passive and calmed down. Then the couple continued as if nothing unusual happened. The man went on to save the life of their daughter while completing his work.

Please notice that "hysterical" is a word related to "hysterectomy." It's strictly a female trait to routinely become temporarily insane from ordinary emotions.

Today, women still get hysterical at random, unpredictable intervals. But it's considered such a crime to do anything about it, that men have to suffer through their prolonged fits and temper tantrums. No good comes from that.

It's about time men took charge. Next time your woman throws a fit, strike her. It's for her own good. And it'll make you feel better, too.

I just watched an episode of the 1964 TV show The Outer Limits. In that show, a husband hit his wife in the face to stop her when she became hysterical.

It's interesting to see how the culture has changed. Many old TV shows and movies have men striking women. James Bond in 1963's From Russia With Love, for example. He knocks the girl he is escorting out when she becomes a bother.

Also, the 1956 movie musical Carousel, the male lead, Billy, hits his wife. Later, in ghost form, he tries to slap his daughter. The daughter then asks her mother if a slap can feel like a kiss. The mother, apparently well acquainted with Billy's blows, agrees that it can, and sometimes "doesn't hurt at all".

I'm kind of surprised Jackie Gleason, as Ralph Kramden in the Honeymooners, never struck his wife Alice, although he often threatened to send her "to the moon" with his fist.

Needless to say, it's doubtful we'd see something like this today, and if we did, it would be in a completely different context.

Scripted fictionalizations are a poor substitute for reality.

Generally you should never hit a girl, it's weak and ugly. However, I guess in certain types of relationships and situations it's kinda acceptable - I remember once I was arguing with my ex and suddenly slapped her on the cheek, then smiled. She even liked it and was kinda turn on I guess... However, this doesn't mean in any way that someone should go around beating up women when gets pissed off

My mom told me if a woman hits me I need to hit her back and hit her harder. It has not happened and hope it doesn't. Never hit a woman and don't plan to. I don't think this type of violence works. If you want to have some effect on her instead of hitting try not giving her all the attention in the world (little ignoring can go a long way) and show her who's the boss in the bedroom.

Im totally with Downlow here, it really live me speechless to see so many young guys here who should be aware of society conditioning and double standards, to accept and defend those same rules which keep them down and decrease their quality of life and dignity.

The reason why its not a good idea to hit a woman now its simply the unfair law system and the weak effeminated society and its punishment, that same society which cannot ensure your safety and property yet expect you to limit your behaviour while defending yourself.

The worst part about hitting a woman is the stigma that follows you afterwards. Anyone who knows you hit a woman will instantly hate you. Whether they are right or wrong (usually wrong to), but society has turned it into a flat out crime. Hitting a woman just once is enough for you to lose your job, court cases, etc. It's not just that the woman might hate you afterwards. Your life can literally turn to hell these days if you do it.

I don't agree with hitting a woman, but I think the difference is the laws these days. If someone strikes someone you get hauled off to jail, woman presses charges this and that.. Back in the day it was probably just accepted.
